Greetings, herb folk and plant lovers--and lovers of plant lovers! Who needs inspiration

for the perfect gifts for 2020?

This has been a year where we’ve seen a lot of folks reconnecting with nature. Growing

plants indoors and out, a renewed interest in herbalism, gardening--the natural world is part of

what is helping keep us grounded and sane.

This year while planning our gifting, let’s keep that connection to nature strong. And it is

more important than ever that with that in mind, we support our local ecology--i.e.businesses-

-the people in our community that work hard to provide us with all kinds of services, products,

medicine, and beauty.

With no Christmas or Yule markets or artisan or craft fairs, the season looks very different

for all of us and is shaping up to be a challenging one for many of our talented Makers. The closing

of non-essential businesses in various locations across the country has impeded our access to really

talented local vendors who rely on holiday orders to keep their businesses strong throughout the

year.

But happily, we do have *direct* access to many of these folks through the world wide

web. So we took pleasure in creating this Holiday gift guide for herbalists, plant people and plant

lovers with a varied and eclectic line of botanical jewelry, glass, ceramic, prints, gift boxes, herbal

remedies, plant based personal care products, and more that we know and love.

We also compiled some of our favourite local suppliers of herbs, raw ingredients, containers

and packaging for those of you who are keeping things personal and local by DIY’ing your gifting

this year.

Our guide is by no means exhaustive or completely comprehensive--there is an absolute

abundance of wonderful businesses and brands that may not have made our “quick and dirty”

seasonal compilation. (Have a book lover on your list? Support your local bookseller. You know

the drill. :)) If for some reason one of your favourites isn’t listed here--by all means, support that

Wild Rose College prides itself on contributing to the herbal community here in Canada
