2. Gränsland JägarstuganExperience the silence of the forest in Jägarstugan, located in the middle of the forest by a small creek. Spend the night in a primitive charcoal worker’s hut. Listen to the sound of the crackling open fire before you go to sleep. The days in Jägarstugan Wilderness Lodge are characterized by daily duties like fetching water from the well, chopping wood for the fire and cooking on one of our many fireplaces. For those who wish, there are safaris, predator watching, fishing and nature photography. Jägarstugan Wilderness Lodge is adapted for people with disabilities.

Here on the farm, you can experience the local flavour along with professional hosting and extensive know-ledge of the area s stunning wild- and birdlife. Bring a picnic into the fields and meet the sheep and lambs or experience the forest from a canoe in one of the forestlakes surrounding the farm. Learn about the best spots for picking wild berries or mushrooms. Ulvsbomuren is a perfect base for hiking on Bruksleden. The trail offers a varied hike with its deep forests, meadows, desolate moors, lakes and small agricultural communities. Combine a farm or wildlife activity with bed and breakfast or full board with all meals included. The threecourse wildlife dinner is highly recommended, made from high quality ingredients from the local forest such as game, birds, berries and mushrooms. Lamb, herbs and vegetables from the farm are also on the menue. Stay the night in one of the old timber cottages surrounded by a large wooden deck with a sauna and a wooden hot tub.

6. Kolarbyn Eco Lodge – Sweden’s most primitive hostelAt Kolarbyn neither electricity nor running water disturb your wilderness experience. Silence, wilderness and exciting outdoor experiences are located just a few hours from intense big city life. The hostel is a collection of twelve charcoal-burner huts located in the middle of a spruce forest. There are two bunks in each for sheepskins and sleeping bags. All the huts have a wood heated stove and use wood chopped by the guests themselves. Blueberries can be picked right off the roof of the hut. Close by there are endless possibilities for enjoying outdoor life, including splendid fishing lakes, barbecues and hiking trails. The environmentally friendly hostel has been built from natural materials, and a percentage of the revenue coming into STF Kolarbyn goes straight to a range of projects that support preservation of the environment and historic places of interest. By booking a guide with a bike bus you can arrive in Sweden without your own vehicle, and still easily travel from area to area. Or you can let the driver take your luggage while you follow the signposted trails that combine the areas. How many routes do you want to ride a day? ”The trails are graded in four different difficulties and are varied in length, so it is easy for you to pick a route that will suit you.” Come and experience mountainbiking at its best.

Experienced photographers and hikers are part of our tours for you to get the most out of your trips. Norwegian Expedition use local guides in different areas to identify the best destinations in terms of photo- graphy and experience. If you are lucky you will see moose, fox and various birds frolic in front of the shed or on our trips. We can not promise that you will see all the species. This is not a zoo – these are wild animals, it is also important that we are there for the animals’ terms. When they appear though, it’s an awesome experience.
