Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For He chose us in Him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight. In love He predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with His pleasure and will— to the praise of His glorious grace, which He has freely given us in the One He loves. Ephesians 1:3-6 My son Nathan is a firefighter / paramedic serving here in Charlotte County. His wife Ashley is an experienced teacher, having taught 5th grade last year at Community Christian School. Unable to have children of their own, they have prayed and sought to adopt. Last week, the miracle many of us have been praying for - came true, as they traveled to pick up their new daughter ‘Cora Isabella.’ The birth mother chose them to receive her child. It has been so heart-warming that at times, all you have are tears of joy. To see my strong son holding his 7 lb. daughter in his arms, to see Ashely stare into her daughter’s eyes, is just heavenly. There is something so divine about adoption, the choosing of a child to be a part of your family. It’s a picture –a reminder that God chose us to be a part of His eternal family. Once children of the devil, God rescued us and became our heavenly Father. How humbling… Makes us grateful, doesn’t it? Thanks to all who have walked with Nate and Ashley to support them on this journey. Today, we are rejoicing!
