Join us for our final Pizza and Policy in the Pit on Tuesday, April 23 at noon. Professor Michael Dimino will discuss the pending Supreme Court case of Shelby Co. v. Holder, which challenges

the constitutionality of Section 5 of the Voting Rights Act on 1965. Section 5 requires that a num-ber of states or portions of states, mostly in the South, obtain Justice Department preclearance be-fore making any changes to their election laws. Congress renewed the Voting Rights Act for 25 years in 2006, but some Justices have been critical of it, including Justice Antonin Scalia who characterized the Voting Rights Act as the "perpetuation of racial entitlement" during oral ar-guments in February.

As always, there will be pizza and beverages.

the time and fill out a form that is found at the Suggestion Box. All questions and com‐ments will be read weekly and actions taken in response will be posted.


COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY 2013

Graduation Meetings. Graduation meetings will be held on April 17, 2013, at 12:15 p.m. and 5:15 p.m. in room A180. Caps, gowns and a packet containing invitations and tickets will be handed out at these meetings.

The Registrar’s Office regular office hours are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hours may be ex-tended if necessary during the course of the semester. The office phone number is 717-541-3904.

EMPLOYMENT FORMS

If you are a Regular Division student and have not filled out an employment form, please stop in the Registrar’s Office to do so. These were due February 1st. See “Section 310. Outside Employ-ment” of the Academic Code.

LOCKERS

Locker keys are available in the Registrar’s Office. Lockers are located on the second floor of the Library Building. There is a $5.00 deposit for a locker key.

OPTING OUT OF EXAM-SOFT? If you are not using your Computer to take your exams, you will need to come to the Registrar’s Office or do an on-line form by April 17th or before this date if you have a quiz or mid-term.

FROM THE LIBRARY

Time is beginning to wind down on the semester, with 2:00 AM hours in the library to start at the end of the month. This must mean that finals are just around the corner and the library is here to help you prepare to succeed!

Many faculty members have placed old exams and sample answers on reserve for students to see. Stop at the Information Desk to see if your professor has done so. Also, a limited number of exams are available online at:

Remember also, that the library has an extensive collection of study aid materials to help a stu-dent understand and organize a particular topic of law. The current editions of these materials are found on the shelves next to the downstairs computer lab. There is a printed list of titles by topic in a binder on these shelves, or you can use the online catalog to find the appropriate call number. To generate a list of resources, running a key word search on “examples and explana-tions” will provide a list of all available titles in the popular Examples and Explanations series, with other related books shelved nearby.
