The Lighthouse

A light house is such a cool analogy for what a parent can be for their kids.

We shine light ahead as far as we can so our kids can choose to avoid the rocks and the dangers that they may not notice by themselves. We don't do all the navigating for them but we can give guidance.

I love this image! That is one serious storm buffeting the light house but check our how solid the foundations are! No wonder they never move!

And this is how I believe we must be as parents in order to give our kids the best opportunities in life!

We must choose our morals carefully and demonstrate them by example to our kids. Why would a kid say no to drugs or smoking if they already know that's what their parents do? Why would our kids say no to alcohol when they see their parents drinking so often (and possibly too much)? Why would our kids stay fit and healthy when mummy or daddy isn't?

The firm foundation starts with us!!!! It starts with our habits of body mind and spirit! When we get better, our kids have a better springboard to launch into the world from!

I believe in you.
