˕ Learning languages

at “Centro Linguistico di Ateneo”

The Language Center (Centro Linguistico di

Ateneo - CLA) is the official structure of the

University of Florence. CLA offers courses at

various levels in different languages throughout

the academic year. It also offers customized one-

to one tuition for specific needs. Students with

international study grants (Erasmus and similar)

can attend, during their stay, one Italian language

course free of charge, starting from A2 level.

˕ International Relations Office

(Coordinamento per le Relazioni Internazionali)

The International Relations Office is a specific

unit of the Central Administration which pro-

motes the internationalization of the research

and teaching activities. It provides services to

support incoming foreign visitors and academics

(Welcome Service). It promotes international

collaborations through the signing of cultural and

scientific cooperation agreements with foreign

universities.

˕ International Desk

The Foreign Students Desk provides a first point

of contact for all prospective non-E.U. students

residing abroad, who intend to enrol in a degree

program. The Desk also manages the enrolment

of students coming from abroad within the

framework of a non-Erasmus Plus exchange

agreement and spending a semester or year

abroad through registration for single courses.

The Desk manages applications for the recogni-

tion of foreign academic degrees, awarded by a

foreign State or legally accredited university, in

order to be able to enrol in a first cycle (bache-

lor’s) degree, a single cycle degree or a second

cycle (master’s) degree offered by the University

of Florence.

˕ International student mobility

The student mobility office promotes and orga-

nizes outgoing international student mobility

under the Erasmus plus programme. It also

organizes the Erasmus traineeship and extra-EU

student mobility, under different financing

schemes.

˕ Multicultural Tutors

The multicultural tutors combine their subject

area expertise, with the necessary language and

cultural skills to communicate with foreign stu-

dents in their own language, and work towards

creating self-motivated independent students.

They help their peers to adjust to a different en-

vironment, by providing both academic and non

academic support.
