Why are so many blogs such a hopeless failure?
passle investigates…
Most businesses are hugely missing the mark
when it comes to business
blogging
In a recent passle survey of over 500 businesses…
(June-July 2013)
Only 1 in 8 businesses had an updated blog*
*of at least 3 posts in the last year… so not even a high benchmark!
And
80% had no blog at all!
13% 7%
80%
Active blog Inactive blog No blog
We then asked 800 heads of
marketing at small or medium sized businesses if they had an updated blog…
(July-August 2013)
70%
admitted they did not have an updated blog
Given that claims…
Businesses that blog 3-5 times a month have twice as much web traffic and inbound leads than those who don’t blog…
And that… Small businesses (<10 employees)
see the biggest gains in web traffic and inbound leads
when they post more articles...
just why is nobody
blogging?!
passle decided to investigate...

Male Female
so what can be done about it?
Businesses essentially
have 2 choices
when it comes
to blogging…
option 1 (the cop-out)
Just give up. A dead blog looks so much worse than not having one at all – so if you can’t keep your blog updated, it’s time to bin it.
option 2 (the better choice)
Commit to your blog. Force yourself
to write. Get your colleagues involved to help you. And
use a tool like passle to make it much,
much easier.
