Why LED lights are so popular LED lights have become so popular due to their energy saving capacity, this means that they are better for the environment and that they also keep energy bills low. Compared to incandescent lights, LED lights have a longer life span. The difference between LED lights and incandescent lights is that LED lights do not have a wire filament or any type of filament for them to produce light which results in making them much more energy efficient while still producing the same amount of quality lighting. LED lights are illuminated solely by the movement of electrons in a semiconductor material, that semiconductor material is usually silicon; nowadays silicon is at the heart of every electronic device. The benefit of having silicon is that it tricks the electrons because it looks metallic. However silicon is in fact not metallic nor do they have any free electrons to conduct the electrical current and it is because of this that the silicon crystals act more of an insulator rather than a conductor. On the other hand incandescent lights get their source of light through the wire filament. The wire filament excites the electrons and the energy the electrons produce is given off in the form of light. The absence of the wire filament in the LED light makes them more popular because it reduces heat loss meaning it can use more energy for light. The absence of the wire filament in a LED light makes them more resilient which is another factor which adds to their popularity. Many incandescent lights do not work because the filament has been damaged and/or broken; even if you handle the light bulb very carefully there is still the possibility of it breaking. For an incandescent light to work effectively the wire filament needs to get a lot of heat which makes them very dangerous as it can easily burn people if they are touched. Due to them being energy efficient, LED lights and compact fluorescent lights have become extremely popular. Due to them being popular LED lights still take the lead due to their slight differences. The reason LED lights are so popular are down to their durability, long lifespan and easy installation they also contain no hazardous substances. On the other hand CF lights may require speciality fixtures, they are also easily breakable and have a lifespan about one-fifth that of a LED light, also CF lights contain mercury which can become very dangerous when the gas is released. Also because CF lights take a long time to heat up it means that it takes a long time for the light to fully brighten up. Also it is useful to know that when you switch a CF light on and off you are shortening their lifespan. http://www.light-solutions.co.uk/

Why LED lights are so popular

LED lights have become so popular due to their energy saving capacity, this means that they are

better for the environment and that they also keep energy bills low. Compared to incandescent

lights, LED lights have a longer life span.

The difference between LED lights and incandescent lights is that LED lights do not have a wire

filament or any type of filament for them to produce light which results in making them much more

energy efficient while still producing the same amount of quality lighting. LED lights are illuminated

solely by the movement of electrons in a semiconductor material, that semiconductor material is

usually silicon; nowadays silicon is at the heart of every electronic device. The benefit of having

silicon is that it tricks the electrons because it looks metallic. However silicon is in fact not metallic

nor do they have any free electrons to conduct the electrical current and it is because of this that

the silicon crystals act more of an insulator rather than a conductor.

On the other hand incandescent lights get their source of light through the wire filament. The wire

filament excites the electrons and the energy the electrons produce is given off in the form of light.

The absence of the wire filament in the LED light makes them more popular because it reduces heat

loss meaning it can use more energy for light. The absence of the wire filament in a LED light makes

them more resilient which is another factor which adds to their popularity. Many incandescent

lights do not work because the filament has been damaged and/or broken; even if you handle the

light bulb very carefully there is still the possibility of it breaking. For an incandescent light to work

effectively the wire filament needs to get a lot of heat which makes them very dangerous as it can

easily burn people if they are touched.

Due to them being energy efficient, LED lights and compact fluorescent lights have become

extremely popular. Due to them being popular LED lights still take the lead due to their slight

differences.

The reason LED lights are so popular are down to their durability, long lifespan and easy installation

they also contain no hazardous substances. On the other hand CF lights may require speciality

fixtures, they are also easily breakable and have a lifespan about one-fifth that of a LED light, also

CF lights contain mercury which can become very dangerous when the gas is released. Also because

CF lights take a long time to heat up it means that it takes a long time for the light to fully brighten

up. Also it is useful to know that when you switch a CF light on and off you are shortening their

lifespan.
