Words are free (kind of) and that is important for startups 

sex sells

To be a successful startup entrepreneur, you must be

able to write.

Huh? Me no write so good!

Oh, oh. Biz will fail. 

Bullshit!Everyone can write well if they make it a priority.

Sure, you're not Kurt Vonnegut.

But no ones knows your story better than you.

Even if you have to express your story via a ghost writer, you are still a 

writer and a story teller.

Writing is a craftA craft can be learned with practice and time.

Take pride in your writing and words.

But first, you need a content strategy

Don't worry, that's just fancy talk for:

1.think about what you write– where and when it's published– have a clear and consistent voice– regard words as important as the design of

your logo and website– words build the identity of your company

and if you know the core value of your business, you already know most of this.

They start out so well.

But then they go a bit astray and you have a weak ending.

So, recognise when an article just isn't up to scratch and

ditch it. Learn from it.

My 10 quick rules for writing *

1. Decide on a coherent voice and stick to it.– Convey one idea per article. More than one idea? Make it a series.– People remember and appreciate the simple stuff.– Writing simply does not make you look stupid. It's a real skill.– Syndicate and guest blog. Everyone else has more traffic than you. Be glad of it.– Publications are desperate for content. Don't be scared to approach them.– Understand what is news and what isn't and to whom.– There is no such thing as writing, just rewriting.– Say the important stuff at the beginning. You probably tend to save it until the end.– Subject yourself to an editor's knife from time to time. On your own website you

write whatever you want. Try writing for someone else and see how they view your work.
