How Your Humidifier WorksYour new Kenmore humidifier is designedto satisfy home humidity requirementsthrough the principle of evaporation ofwater in the air.

After water is added to the bottle, the

filters begin to soak up the water andbecome totally saturated in approxi-mately 30 minutes. Air is drawn in fromthe rear of the humidifier and through the

filters by means of circulation fans. As airpasses through the filters, moisture isabsorbed into the air and then released

in the form of vapor. No water dropletswilt enter the home. All evaporation intothe air takes place in the humidifier,

which means that the residue left byevaporating water is not passed into thehome, but remains in the filter.

CAUTION: Use only 32-14900 EPARegistered Bacteriostat availablefrom Sears Retail store. Under no

circumstances should you use watertreatment products designed forRoto belt or Ultrasonic humidifiers.

To reducethe risk of this, we recommend youclean your humidifier weekly withHumidifier Cleaner 32-14713 and useBacteriostat 32-14900. These areavailable at your local Sears store.

Location Instructions

WARNING: For your own safety, do Inot use humidifier if any parts are Idamaged or missing.

Step 1:Place humidifier on a fiat level surface inan area of your house where humidity isneeded most, or in an area which wouldlikely result in moist air being circulatedthroughout the house, such as near acold air return.

Placing the unit level is very important ifthe humidifier is located on carpeting.

Moist air (humidity) produced wiltdisperse into the whole house, but areaclosest to the unit wilt have the highesthumidity. If the unit is positioned close toa window, condensation may form on thewindow pane. If this is not appropriatethe unit should be repositioned in anotherlocation.

NOTE: Due to release of cool, moist airfrom humidifier, it is best to direct airaway from home thermostat and hot airregisters. It is best to position humidifiernext to an inside wall. Hot air registersand cold air from outside walls can affectthe efficiencies of the controls. Unitshould not be placed where warm airfrom a hot air register blows directly onunit.

Step 2:

The humidifier should be positioned withthe back (cord exit side), at least 2inches away from the walt. Air needs toenter through the louvers in the rearpanel in order for the humidifier tooperate at peak efficiency.

At Least 2" From Wall

Electrical Hook-UpLocate nearest 120V A.C. walt socket in

the location desired, preferably on insidewalt. With the humidifier in the desired

location, route the electrical cord safelyso no one will trip or upset the humidifier.Plug in the electrical cord.

WARNING: To reduce the risk of fireor shock hazard, humidifier shouldbe plugged into a 120VA.C. outlet.Do not use extension cords.

To reduce the risk of electrical shock, this

humidifier has a polarized plug (oneblade is wider than the other). This plugwill fit in a polarized outlet only one way.

If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse plug. If it still does not fit, contacta qualified electrician to install the properoutlet. Do not change the plug in any way.

Page 6: WHOLE HOUSE HUMIDIFIER - Sears Parts DirectSears, Roebuck and Co., Hoffman Estates, IL 60179 U.S.A. Part No. SP6595 Printed in U.S.A. ONE YEAR FULL WARRANTY ON KENMORE HUMIDIFIER If
