O SOME PEOPLE, JesusChrist was a righteous man. Toothers, He was a great teacher and

to many, He was just another religious leader.But to Christians, Jesus Christ was more thana man, teacher and leader.

e verses that folow are quoted from theBile which give an accurate account of whoJesus was and His life on earth.

His Birth

Now thebirth of JesusChrist wason this wise:

When as hismother Mary

was espoused to Joseph, before they cametogether, she was found with child of the HolyGhost. en Joseph her husband, being a just

man, and not wiling to make her a pulickexample, was minded to put her away privily.But while he thought on these things, behold,the angel of the Lord apeared unto him in a

His Relationship with God

en cometh Jesusfrom Galilee to

and comest thou tome? And Jesus answering said unto him,Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becomethus to fulfil al righteousness. en he suffered

His Mission

And Jesus went about al Galilee, teachingin their synagoues, and preaching the goelof the kingdom, and healing al manner of

sickness and al manner of disease among thepeople (Mahew 4:23).

And Jesus answering said unto them, eythat are whole need not a physician; but theythat are sick. I came not to cal the righteous,but sinners to repentance (Luke 5:31, 32).

For God sent not his Son into the worldto condemn the world; but that the worldthrough him might be saved (John 3:17).

His TeachingBlessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs isthe kingdom of heaven. Blessed are they thatmourn: for they shal be comforted. Blessed

are the meek: for they shal inherit the earth.Blessed are they which do hunger and thirstaer righteousness: for they shal be filed.Blessed are the merciful: for they shal obtainmercy. Blessed are the pure in heart: for theyshal see God. Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eyefor an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: but I sayunto you, at ye resist not evil: but whosoevershal smite thee on thy right cheek, turn tohim the other also (Mahew 5:38, 39).

His Warning

Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted,

and become as lile children, ye shal not enterinto the kingdom of heaven (Mahew 18:3).

I tel you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shalal likewise perish (Luke 13:3).

And many false prophets shal rise, and shaldeceive many. And because iniquity shalabound, the love of many shal wax cold. Buthe that shal endure unto the end, the same

shal be saved. And this goel of the kingdomshal be preached in al the world for a witnessunto al nations; and then shal the end come(Mahew 24:11-14).

Heaven and earth shal pass away, but mywords shal not pass away (Mahew 24:35).

His Miracles and Acts of Healing

When Christ was on earth, He proved to theworld that He was no ordinary person. Heperformed many miracles and acts of healing,

examples of which are as folows:

Healing the man with a withered hand.(Mark 3:1-5)

Feeding the five thousand. (John 6:1-l4)

Healing one sick of the palsy. (Mark2:1-12)

Turning water into wine. (John 2:1-

10)Lazarus raised from the dead. (John11:1-45)

e catching of a great multitude offishes. (Luke 5:1-7)

His Claims

And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of

life: he that cometh to me shal never hunger;and he that believeth on me shal never thirst(John 6:35).

en spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I

am the light of the world: he that foloweth meshal not wak in darkness, but shal have thelight of life (John 8:12).

Jesus said unto her, I am the resurection,

and the life: he that believeth in me, thoughhe were dead, yet shal he live: and whosoeverliveth and believeth in me shal never die.Believest thou this? (John 11:25, 26).

His Death

Jesus Christ had

twelve disciples.One of them, JudasIscariot, betrayedHim for thirtypieces of silver and

with a kiss. Hecolaborated withthe chief priestswho were everready to get rid of Jesus Christ because theywere envious of His works and claims. Judasmade it possile for the high priests, scribesand elders to lay hands on his master.

Now the chief priests, and elders, and al thecouncil, sought false witness against Jesus, toput him to death; but found none: yea, thoughmany false witnesses came, yet found theynone. At the last came two false witnesses, and

said, is felow said, I am ale to destroy thetemple of God, and to build it in three days.And the high priest arose, and said unto him,Answerest thou nothing? what is it which

these witness against thee? But Jesus held hispeace. And the high priest answered and saidunto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that

thou tel us whether thou be the Christ, theSon of God. Jesus saith unto him, ou hastsaid: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereaershal ye see the Son of man siing on the right

hand of power, and coming in the clouds ofheaven. en the high priest rent his clothes,saying, He hath spoken lasphemy; whatfurther need have we of witnesses? behold,now ye have heard his lasphemy. What think

ye? ey answered and said, He is uilty ofdeath (Mahew 26:59-66).

e chief priests and the elders of the peopletook counsel against Jesus to put Him to death.

Aer they had bound Him, they led Himaway, and delivered Him to Pontius Pilate thegovernor who later yielded to the demand ofchief priests and elders to crucify Him even

though he found no fault in Jesus.

His Resurection

In the end of the sabath, as it began to

dawn toward the first day of the week, cameMary Magdalene and the other Mary tosee the sepulchre. And, behold, there was agreat earthquake: for the angel of the Lord

descended fromheaven, and cameand roled back

the stone fromthe door, andsat upon it. Hiscountenance was

like lightning,and his raimentwhite as snow:and for fear ofhim the keepers did shake, and became as

dead men. And the angel answered and saidunto the women, Fear not ye: for I know thatye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is nothere: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see theplace where the Lord lay. And go quickly, andtel his disciples that he is risen from the dead;and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee;there shal ye see him: lo, I have told you. Andthey departed quickly from the sepulchre

with fear and great joy; and did run to bringhis disciples word (Mahew 28:1-8).

His Second Coming

Immediately aer the tribulation of thosedays shal the sun be darkened, and the moonshal not give her light, and the stars shal fal

from heaven, and the powers of the heavens

shal be shaken: and then shal apear the sign

of the Son of man in heaven: and then shal

al the tribes of the earth mourn, and theyshal see the Son of man coming in the clouds

of heaven with power and great glory. And he

shal send his angels with a great sound of a

trumpet, and they shal gather together hiselect from the four winds, from one end of

heaven to the other (Mahew 24:29-31).

. . . Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up

into heaven? this same Jesus, which is takenup from you into heaven, shal so come in like

manner as ye have seen him go into heaven

(Acts 1:11).
