may nakalagay:
Common Architectural Drawing Scales
Drawing scale Drawing scale factor
1/16" = 1'-0 192
1/8" = 1'-0 96
1/4" = 1'-0 48
1:200 200
1:100 100
1:50 50
.....and so on....
tapos may kinalaman pa siya eventually bago mo i-plot.

ewan ko bro if ito ba ibig sabihin mo, another way iyan bro sa pag scale sa drawing,
dalawa kasi ang way pag scale sa drawing either sa model or sa lay-out.. pag sa model
ka mag scale halimbwa, gusto mo scale 1:25, go to format dimstyle> primary
units>scale factor>put value 0.25. and then yung drawing mo naman sa model scale
mo into 1:25 din, command SC >put scale factor 100/25. scale na yung drawing mo
1:25..

A good practice is draw your drawings in 1:1 scale.
Then sa dimensions mo nalang gawin ang scaling ng 1:50, 1:100 or 1:200. Pero dapat
yung paper size na gagamitin mo will also fit the said dimensioning.
Another way is scaling up the drawings to your desired scale. 1:50 means scaling up to
2.
1:50 = 2x
1:20 = 5x
1:10 = 10x
1:200 = 1/2x
1:500 = 1/5x
and so on. But with this, you should be using the same paper. Kailangan mo din iadjust
ang dimension. Good luck!
Another one is using the paper space. Medyo complicated but very efficient.

(model parin) then sa display i choose the window at select ko yong gusto kong i print

Factor.
DRAWING SCALE and DRAWING SCALE FACTOR:
1. Drawing Scale - its the scale you are using in your drawing regardless of what base
unit you use. Say your input is 1, we can say that it can be 1 m, 1 cm, 1mm, 1 inch or
even 1 km. Say kapag ang drawing scale mo is 1:2 then you will double the input. This
can be tweak by means of viewport scaling or even dimensioning
2. Drawing Scale Factor - these are the factor you use when scaling your drawing.
Example 1:50 = 2x or 1:20 = 5x
Drawing Scale can be done on different method and on different usage.
Method 1 Usage 1 - Scale Factor use in Drawing

On the drawing i have these lines, i have these 1,2,3,4,5 and 10 units line. We dont
know if it is 1 meter, 2 meter or an inch...we dont have a base unit. Unless we provide a
base or a scale note that it is 1 unit : 1 m or 1 unit : 1 inch or 1 unit : 1 cm. Okay so
lets decide that 1unit : 1 meter, therefore all my inputs will be base on meter 1cm =
.01, 10cm = .1 and so on. Say the wall is 150 thick so on my drawing it will be .15m.
Supposed i need a 1:50 drawing (100/50 = 2), so i will rescale my drawing 2x, if 1:20 (
100/20 = 5) then 5x and so on. Then it will be plotted as 1:1 ratio if given units is
meter and 1000:1 if given unit is mm.
Method 1 Usage 2 - Scale Factor use in Plotting
Scaling your drawing into different scale has its disadvantages. You will find it difficult
in dealing with another drawing, plotting, importing and in xref. So we decide not to
scale the drawing and it remains 1:1 but we need a plotted drawing at 1:50 so we

calculate 1/50 = .02 x 1000 (since our base units display in paper size is mm) = 20.
Scale factor on dimension is another. We can make the dimension in millimeter even
without changing the scale factor of the drawing, meaning even the drawing is in 1:1 ,
your dimension can be made into millimeter or cm.

here's another way (my way) of scaling drawing most especially the dimensions.
on model space:
1. choose a particular scale that you want to use (e.g 1:150)
2. use the CAL command and type 100/150 then the result 0.666666667 is the one you
will use for scaling

www.cgpinoy.org/t16773-who-knows-about-drawing-scale-and-drawing-scale-factor-in-autocad 10/15
these are the formulas in changing scale type:
MODEL SPACE:
100/x = x2
100 - (default scale)
x1 - (target scale)
x2 - (result value of the scale conversion)
for example: 100/150 = 0.666666667 (1:150 scale), 100/200 = .5 (1:200 scale),
1:300 = 0.333333333 (1:300 scale) and so on..
3. use the SCALE command or SC
4. Specify base point
5. Specify scale factor or [Copy/Reference]: R
6. Specify reference length <1.00>: (don't change this value)
7. Specify new length or [Points] <1.00>: (enter the result value of the scale
conversion, see 2.)
To scale the dimensions on the scaled drawing:
1. type CAL command
2. reverse the process regarding scale conversion for example: 1:150 scale (150/100 =
1.5), 1:200 (200/100 = 2)
3. pick a dimension
4. the go to properties or MO command
5. then look for Primary units then Scale Linear, then you notice that the value is 1
6. change the value (result of the conversion, see 2.)
7. then Match Prop the other dimensions.
To scale a drawing form Paper Space PS:
1. go to Paper Space Tab
2. create a viewport
3. double click inside the viewport to go inside the model space
4. type the zoom command or Z
here are the scale conversions for Paper Space: 1:200 (1000/200xp), 1:150
(1000/150xp), 1:300 (1000/300xp) and so on..
5. Specify corner of window, enter a scale factor (nX or nXP), or
[All/Center/Dynamic/Extents/Previous/Scale/Window/Object] :
6. then enter the scale conversions that you want 1000/100xp (this is 1:100 scale).
7. adjust your viewports.
Tips and Tricks:
changing back to default scale of the drawing is difficult, so to make it easy for you to
edit a drawing without changing it back to default scale is make it as a block first then
copy, convert the other one to a specified scale that you want then leave the other one
on the default scale, if you have revisions then edit the block that is on the default
scale.

kung ang drawing mo is 1:50 you have to multiply by 2.5MM for A1 SIZE PAPER :
Example like this your scale is 1:50 you will multiply 50x2.5=125MM text heigth mo sa

Note: Scale is the ratio between paperspace or layout tab : model space
Dalawa yung scale:
1:) object scale (scale factor > 1 is scale up and if < 1 is reducing
object size)
2) Viewport scale (ration between PS:MS)
Let's say na magploplot ka ng plans using 20"x30"(508mmx762mm) paper size ,
usually ikinoconvert ko yung size into mm kasi metric sytem ginagamit ko sa work and
for consistency ..Gusto mo iscale ang architechtural plans into 1:50 .
Steps:
1) create viewport in the layout tab
2) doble click the viewport then zoom the dwg you want to be scaled.
3) select 1:50 in the viewport scale list , ilock mo para hindi magalaw accidentally.
Autocad Command:
Command: spacetrans
naselect ko yung viewport previously kay may MSPACE then input distance.(let us say
1)
5) kapag nasa Paper space o layout tab lang
6) diba tama 0.02=1:50
I hope nakatulong ako kahit kunti.....God Bless all:)
