A MESSAGE FROM THE CEO

Welcome Metroids,

Metrix Coin has come a very long way in

a very short amount of time!

For this to happen, there are a lot of

people behind the scenes that have

kindly donated their time and their

passion to see this project succeed. In

this very brief message, I would like to

personally thank the entire team for

their massive effort over the past years,

especially in more recent times, allowing

us to all enjoy the benefits of our brand

new blockchain (a hard fork of the QTUM

chain) that has been coded to suit

Metrix. A new era of smart-contract

technology on a Governor-based

protocol now exists for all Metroids.

Over the year ahead, as a team we look

forward to bringing the community

many new business partnerships, more

real-life use cases for MRX, a much

larger community, and overall plenty of

new opportunities for everyone to enjoy.

This whitepaper will serve to discuss our

vision, our products and the application

use of our blockchain. It will also reveal

our dedicated roadmap for the year

ahead. We will continue to make

amendments to best reflect our

dynamic project.

with the technical jargon to appreciate

our blockchain’s potential and how to

We strongly believe in our path forward,

which we are forging alongside our

community of Metroids, to create a

cryptocurrency with use cases that will

bring us into the industry mainstream.

What makes Metrix such a strong

prospect is our ability to listen to our

base, giving those who wish to have a

direction that has resulted in us

completely reworking our brand, our

team and our legacy. This has included

a hard fork to a new chain, reconfiguring

BACKGROUND

Since the beginning of our existence,

we have strived to push the limits of

innovation to best facilitate our cultural

traditions through technology. It allowed

human civilizations to grow and

advance by making the tasks of our lives

easier to perform.

The age of information is no different. In

just the last five decades, information

technology has evolved in such a

unique way. In the early 1970s, the first

personal computers made their debut.

Soon thereafter, communication

protocols, like TCP/IP, modernized our

form of communication, allowing

computers to connect with one

another; this eventually gave rise to

electronic messages, or the email

system.

In the mid-1990s, the internet was born.

Seemingly overnight, populations were

given the tools through browsers and

web applications to access the World

Wide Web (WWW). Fast-forward to 2008,

Satoshi Nakamoto released “Bitcoin: A

Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System,” a

financial system model maintaining

network integrity between peers as they

transact, thus adding value to the

collective consortia of computers and

servers, or nodes, that comprise the

internet.

In other words, Bitcoin’s blockchain

technology allows for trustworthy

transactions without the need of a

banking system. This is a game

changing point, as there is no longer the

requirement for permission by a human

being (i.e. bank manager). No middle

man, no restrictions, no business hours

to consider and no way this new

paradigm can be stopped. Unless, of

course, someone turned off the global

internet!

In each technological milestone, access

to information has evolved and led us to

a new form with the ability to create

value, or assets, in our current digital

age. The concept of creating value, or

assets, within information has shifted

businesses and communities to further

research blockchain technology. They

witnessed the emergence of multiple

blockchain projects that facilitate

efficient and secure topology networks,

further enhancing our social and

economical developments.

INTRODUCTIONFounded in Portugal in 2017, Metrix

(formerly Lindacoin) was offered as a

solution for businesses looking to find

scalable solutions (i.e. transfer of value,

digitizing assets, or tokenization of

assets) while implementing an open and

trustworthy ledger powered by Proof of-

Work (PoW) and Proof-of-Stake (PoS)

consensus. In conjunction with this

vision, Metrix developers innovated with

great ambition to offer user-friendly

desktop and online tools, transforming

the technical complexities into a

seamless opportunity for anyone to

grasp.

Our persistence to succeed has led us

to redefine our core values, blockchain,

products and services to best serve the

needs of our partners, supporters and

ALTITUDE DESKTOP WALLETWallets in 2020/21 are extremely

important for investors in a project as

well as for long term holders, as they

need to be certain that their coins are

safe from being hacked. It is imperative

to the level of sophistication, and

security within a wallet is paramount.

We’re pleased to advise that the

upgraded Altitude Wallet has inbuilt

security, allowing each user to have

confidence that their coins are safe.

The wallet allows a backup feature

which is highly recommended once

coins have been sent to the wallet. The

custom-built Altitude Wallet was built on

Electron for all desktop computers,

allowing a simplistic yet stylish user

interface. As the network now runs a

Decentralized Governance Protocol, you

will note that the Governor sits proudly

on the top left side of the updated

wallets.

Each Altitude wallet allows an easy set

up of a Governor node. By locking up

7.5M MRX you can then participate to

either make a proposal or voting on a

One of Metrix’s valuable products,

MyStakingWallet (MSW), is a web wallet

and masternode turn-key solution. The

product is a “go anywhere”-based

product, allowing the user to choose

from a desktop application through to

an IOS or Android application for those

users that are on the go. MSW allows

anyone to hold funds securely online,

and it also offers the ability to set-up a

masternode with ease at the click of a

button. Although Metrix no longer uses

masternodes on the new chain, we have

partnered with other projects where you

can enjoy the masternode rewards from

their coins on this product whilst

staking your Metrix at the same time.

Before MSW, people hired developers

who struggled for hours to overcome a

learning curve with coding languages

and purchased expensive hardware in

order to set up a masternode. Metrix

prides themselves by offering a

seamless masternode set-up solution

that does away with the hassles and

unnecessary expenses, making it a

user-friendly product. Oh, and we must

say, it looks really cool as well!

As with any online platform, there are

security risks involved. Our developers

have taken as many of these into

consideration as possible when building

this product to ensure the end-user

with a platform with the utmost security

inbuilt into its base. This wallet comes

with user responsibility though, as the

team does not hold your private keys

nor a copy of your passphrase.

Being a non-custodial wallet is a

fantastic feature for user security;

however, it also comes with user

responsibility. If you have not taken the

time to securely back up your wallet, nor

backed up your passphrase (seed word

or phrase), then you will not be able to

access your coins if you forget your

login details. Similarly, if you share these

details with any other person, you will

also compromise the security of your

coins. For this reason, we highly

recommend that you take control of

your coins by backing up your

passphrase and private keys and secure

them safely offline.

Previously we installed METRIX as a coin

of choice on MyStakingWallet. To

remove any confusion, when we

swapped the old chain to the current

chain, the new option is for METRIX

COIN. Both coins remain with the same

ticker symbol MRX. However, please

note that all old chain Metrix that has

not been swapped over cannot be used

GOVERNANCE MODEL,

DECENTRALIZED APPLICATION (dApps)

AND SMART-CONTRACTS

Metrix has chosen to upgrade its old

chain to a new chain which was a hard

fork of the QTUM Chain. As a

decentralized public chain, the QTUM

Chain regards blockchain governance

as an important aspect of achieving

sustainable development. It also allows

Metrix to harness decentralized

applications, or dApps and smart

contracts.

Similarly to QTUM’s governance model,

Metrix offers 2 aspects of decentralized

governance that work synergistically,

“on-chain governance” and “off-chain

governance”. In on-chain governance,

Metrix decentralized governance

protocol (DGP) allows for Governor

nodes to vote for budget or blockchain

proposals. In off-chain governance,

there are 2 subforms. The first subform

of off-chain governance allows for

anyone to showcase a proposal to the

Metroid community for an unofficial vote

to gauge support. All participants may

be able to assess the likelihood for their

proposal being passed by Governors. In

the second subform, the Metroid

community may engage in forward level

thinking by completing tasks and

building up the Metrix project

foundation in a decentralized manner.

On-chain and off-chain governance are

the appropriate epitomes to

decentralized governance that provides

the community-driven force of

development for our project.

GOVERNORS AND THE NATURE OF GOVERNANCE

Anyone from the Metroid community

may set-up their own Governor node.

There is not a set requirement for

establishing a Governor node other than

locking 7.5M MRX as collateral and either

voting for a proposal, or pinging the

network on a monthly basis. The

minimum number of Governor nodes

required to participate in voting is 100,

and the maximum number of Governor

nodes is capped at 1920. The Metrix

DGP protocol is regarded as a form of

direct democracy in which members of

the Metroid community are given the

opportunity to vote unofficially on

proposals while Governor nodes vote

officially. Everyone from the Metroid

community may participate in the

voting process.

We encourage building on the Metrix

blockchain given the adequate

environment for creating fungible and

non-fungible tokens, dApps and smart-

contracts. Developers that offer their

services to build on the chain, and if

their budget proposal is embraced by

the Metroid community and the

Governor nodes, they may expect a

monthly stipend of MRX for fulfilling the

agreements of the smart-contract.

Submitting budget proposals is not

limited to developers, but rather open to

any participant. All budget proposals will

include the terms of the agreement and

coded into a smart-contract.

As a measure to address blockchain

scalability concerns (large chain size,

large block size, long block times and

high gas fees), the Metroid community

and Governor nodes may approve the

necessary updates in real-time without

the need of a hard fork or soft fork.

Once a blockchain proposal has been

accepted it is furnished into a smart-

contract and executed automatically to

the network.


All smart-contracts are subject for a

review on a monthly basis by the

Metroid community and Governor

nodes. These smart-contracts

automatically execute the term

agreements within the blockchain.

Executed smart-contracts embedded in

the genesis blocks allow for the

necessary network parameters for any

updates and minting of MRX. All smart-

contract transactions via on-chain

governance are recorded in the Metrix

blockchain, and may be easily tracked

and audited.

All budget proposals require a 10% vote

majority. And all blockchain proposals

require a 50% vote majority.

DEFLATIONARY MODEL:

Stake rewards will be given to both validator

nodes and Governor nodes. The new chain

hard-forked from QTUM chain will not

incorporate masternodes.

Prior to the Metrix hard fork to the QTUM

chain, Metrix paid out staking and

masternode rewards of up to 60% per

annum. This is simply unsustainable

over the long term; however, this

structure was put in place to reward

those that were the early coin holders.

The new deflationary model reduces the

amount of the rewards for staking, as

the diagram outlines, and there will no

longer be masternodes within this

network. Metrix will now run Governors,

which pay the same reward structure as

staking.

The team at Metrix Coin wanted to

ensure that the future of the project

would meet the test of time, as this

project is being built for the long term.

The old block chain simply did not have

the scalability required to stay at the

forefront of today’s technology, and this

would have held back the Metrix

development process and business

opportunities moving forward. After

many months of research, the team

settled on the hard fork of the QTUM

block chain, as being the best block

chain to allow the Metrix developers to

code it to suit what Metrix stands for.

Now with the new block chain coded to

suit Metrix unleashed, Metrix is looking

to continue the growth of the coin over

the long term with new applications and

products built off this new block chain.

chain to become decentralized and

community driven. Now for the first time

in Metrix Coin’s history, any member of

the community can make a proposal for

everyone to vote for or against which

will shape the future of this project.

BUSINESS PARTNERSHIPS

The team at Metrix is committed to

growing the project through business

partnerships where it will be possible to

create a real-world use case for the

coin. We are not looking to partner with

other projects and/or businesses for the

sake of simply announcing a

partnership. We are striving to achieve

partnerships that are going to project

Metrix to the next level.

With this being said, our current

partnerships to date will allow MRX to be

spent as a form of money throughout

brick and mortar businesses as well as

online businesses. Our partnership with

BA Consult SLR is being primed

currently at the time of writing and will

allow MRX to be spent initially on slot

machines within an Italian casino.

Through the clients of BA Consult, MRX

will then be rolled out all over Italy with

plans to be accepted in shopping

centers, post offices and even banks.

Per the team’s plan, the use of MRX as a

form of payment in casino slot

machines will be optional for players;

however, incentives will be offered to

players to play using MRX. This will be

done by way of bonus games and

additional free voucher systems. The

technology we are using to allow this to

work is through the current technology

that BA Consult uses to digitize money

through their Cashinow machines.

Metrix developers will then work with BA

Consult developers to connect

application programming interface (API)

directly from the Cashinow machines to

the exchanges.

Once this is operational, we expect the

daily volume of MRX to skyrocket, and

all orders will be market orders. The

liquidity should increase 100 fold or

more over night once these API’s are in

full use. Once this is working with a

faultless application, the team at Metrix

and BA Consult will then continue talks

with the casino as well as other

businesses to duplicate this model. This

in turn will continue to increase liquidity

and daily volume, making the project

much more attractive to investors and

holders alike. The API’s will initially be

connected to the WhiteBIT exchange

through a MRX/EURO trading pair, and

once the volume increases, the API’s will

then be connected to other exchanges

in the same pairing.

TTT meetings will be allotted 1 hour. The

appointed TTT Lead will be given a max

time of 15 minutes to open the

discussion addressing one issue that

warrants solutions and a plan of action.

Following the opening discussion, a

team building period of up to 35

minutes will follow. During the team

building period, participants will have an

opportunity to provide feedback, polish

solutions, and agree on a plan of action

to address the issue. The plan of action

will serve to designate tasks to

participants along with deadlines

agreed to among the participants. Every

participant will be given a task to

complete. The rest of the hour will be to

close the meeting, and set the next

appointment.

Think Tank Thursday (TTT) meetings

form an essential part or our

project’s internal growth. TTT aims

to lay out the issues, solutions and a

plan of action.

PURPOSE

A minimum of 2 people is required to

reach a quorum. The TTT lead may

be self appointed. This is not fixed,

but rather open to each member of

the team.

established, and then it may be done

every other week. Eventually, team

members may host a TTT meeting as

needed.

Please refer to the “Think Tank

Thursday List of Issues” document

that states areas that need our

attention. This document will be

updated in real-time, and will be

accessible to everyone on the team.

The participation will be on a

volunteer basis. Once a Treasury has

been set, a budget will be proposed

for TTT meeting attendance and

completion of tasks within a

deadline. This is to assure

involvement and work.

BOUNTYLIST OF ISSUES

A member of the team may pick an

issue that needs to be addressed, and

jot down solutions and a plan of action.

This member of the team will be

appointed as TTT Lead for the meeting.

An open invitation will be sent along

with date, time and scope of skills

warranted from participants via Discord

and available social media platforms.

Those willing to participate will contact

the TTT Lead. On the day of the

appointment, the TTT Lead will take

down attendance, and start the

meeting. Upon conclusion of the

meeting, the TTT Lead will generate a

recap of the issues, solutions and plan

of action. All TTT meetings are to be
