Inspect for damage and wear and replace if necessary. 5) Bearing

After washed clean, they should be turned smoothly and

noiselessly in your hand. Scratched and noisy ones should be replaced.

6) Removed shaft seals should be replaced during reassem­

bly.

(3) REASSEMBLY

Reassemble in reverse order of disassembly, following

these instructions: 1) Brake unit

When reassembling the actuator: Be careful not to damage the lining contact surfaces. The balls and grooves should be free from dust, metal particles, etc.

b) Brake unit and wheel pinion When reassembling the brake unit on the wheel pinion, the friction plates and separator plates should be installed in correct order. When reassembled, remember to retain them with the snap ring.

2) Wheel shaft a) Install the shaft seal so its end face comes into contact

with the end face A of the seal bush. Then pull tight the axle seal cover with the bolts.

b) When installing the 0 ring, take care not to damage it on the spline teeth of the wheel shaft.

c) Securely drive in the bearing with the locating snap ring on the wheel axle until the bearing comes into contact

with the seal bush. Install the stop ring in the groove on the wheel shaft.

3) Rear axle housing a) The wheel pinions are different on the right and left, so

be sure not to interchange them during installation.
