ENGINEERING WITH EVERYDAY MATERIALS
When it comes to engineering, originality in the materials we use can make all
the difference. One item known for being versatile is paper—and the diverse
options in color, texture, and size can allow for almost any project. Along with
folding paper to a three-dimensional design, you can also use stamping,
coloring, dyeing, and other techniques to beautiful effect.
Paper folding craft activities are wonderful for encouraging not only creativity
and art, but design and engineering skills too. Today’s project involves cutting
and folding and is perfect for school aged kids. If you have a little one, they can
decorate the house and tree and then have an adult assist them with the cutting,
folding and taping.
