Where to Search Videos?
About Frompo Every day, with the increase in the number of online resources, a
need to browse through them arises. Frompo makes it easier to look
them up without wasting much time. With a plenty of search engines
and tools already existing in the market to search, discover and
share content, the problem is not – having an access to the world of
information, but is to have access to the content one wants when
one wants it!
Operating for about 4 years now, Frompo has established and
highlighted its name successfully amongst other search engines.
Frompo is a next generation green and clean search engine. “It is a
community of users who come together and curate search results to
improve the search experience for everyone.” Being a curated
search engine, Frompo extensively manually edits search results
according to user specifications. The word curate means to organize
and oversee; custodian of a collection or a conservator. This holds
apt for Frompo considering its mechanism – it aggregates the most
relevant searches from Google, Yahoo! and Bing and delivers them
in a convenient search package.
About Frompo Sometimes, when one searches for a topic in the search engine, they get
many- a search results which are spam or irrelevant or malicious. Frompo
eliminates this issue by giving them the complete power of the search
engine. Users can actually tailor their own personal search results. For
instance, one could easily search any audio or video, news or blog or
website using specific demands or criteria, say, -
lyrics, genres, singer, movie, album, cast, dance style or
channel, podcasts, time of news, anchors, authors, tweets, following feeds
or anything that you could possibly want!
Objective of Frompo is to identify and classify the best content for a given
topic or category. While most search engines typically get most of their
traffic from the top 10-20% of their indexes, Frompo performs very specific
and to the point, apt searches based on user needs.
About the Green Search Engine – Frompo declared during its launch that it
believes in giving back to the mother Earth and sincerely wants to
help, save and preserve the environment. Alongside being user-friendly, it
is also eco-friendly! The revenue generated by performing searches on
Frompo or clicking on search ads will help in helping the environment!

Videos• A renowned singer of American soil, Carl Sugan once said, “All the books in
the world contain no more information than is broadcast as video in a single
large American city in a single year. Not all bits have equal value”. A Video is
type of art and craftsmanship which captures image click after click, frame by
frame. It comprises of video and audio or could be either one of them.
• With the beginning of the year 1951 a new technology that dazzled
everyone, was then called video tape recorder (VTR), which captures live
images and saves the captured information onto magnetic video tape as
Video. Now “What actually is a video?” and “How it is made?” Answer to
that, Video is a technology of electronically
capturing, recording, processing, storing, transmitting, and reconstructing a
sequence of still images representing scenes in motion. It is a collection of
images, audio and other data. The properties of a video includes pixel
dimension, frame rate, audio channel etc.
• Now if we see the history of video, video technology was first developed for
Cathode ray tubes, whichis also known as CRT. The first video capturing device
i.e. Video tape recorder was invented by Ampex research team, which was
led by Charles Ginsburg. Ampex sold the first VTR for $50,000 in 1956, and
videotape cost $300 per one-hour reel.
Videos• Videos come with different file formats. Now the question is “What is a file
format” file format is the structure in which information is stored in a file. When
considering video files, a large amount of data is required to depict a video
signal accurately; this information is compressed and written into a container
file, all video formats are structures wrapping up some data. There are
different types of video file formats available, each come with different
extensions. Some are optimal for capture of video, some are best used for
editing workflow and some are best for distribution.
• Video file are very complex internally, so they all need to be stored in one of
the basic container types. Some container types are AVI or Quicktime, but
within the same container types also there can be differences in the videos
considering video signal attributes, the codecs used, and the compression
method. Container extensions include AVI, MP4, MKV, RMVB, MOV, FLV and
MXF. Codec is a piece of software which creates data inside the
container, they are little helper applications that programs uses to play video
files. Without proper codec, a video can‟t be played in computer system(s).
Lastly, talking about compression, videos are compressed to lower data rates
to reduce file sizes. So there are 2 types of compression methods are there:
lossless and lossy.
Videos• Lossless: This compression technique compresses the file to smaller size, but
when the file is decoded or decompressed it remains unaltered.
• Lossy: As the word tells, lossy compression means you lose some image, video, or audio information.
• Every video file has some characteristics or properties. These are:
• Frame size: This is the pixel dimension of the frame.
• The Aspect Ratio: This is the ratio of width to height.
• Frame rate: This is the speed at which the frames are captured and intended for playback.
• Bitrate: The bitrate or data rate is the amount of data used to describe the audio or video portion of the file.
• The audio sample rate: This is how often the audio is sampled when converted from an analog source to a digital file.
• By the dawn of 1990 video became the „revolution‟ and gave access to sophisticated editing and control technology, allowing many individuals to create a video of their own by editing, controlling and making it more interactive. Today, you can see artists from genre creating video namely, albums, clips, movies and short telefilms. Videos today have become an integral part for most of the companies/enterprises to market and promote their brand or the relative products/services.
