To prevent sewer gas from entering your home please keep traps wet. If necessary pour water down unused sinks and traps to prevent those odors from entering your home. GET SET FOR * Shut off outside water taps at inside valves & drain * Ensure garbage container lids lock tight as animals begin to forage for an easy meal * Remove and empty garden hoses and store them * Clean gutters & downspouts to prevent water/ice damage * Ensure gutters and downspouts discharge away from the foundation * Blow out irrigation lines * Schedule your furnace inspection and change your furnace filter * If you have a woodburning stove or fireplace, schedule an inspection and cleaning * Change your air conditioner filters * Test your smoke alarm and change the batteries * Clean your heating vents * Properly maintain your storm windows and doors to prevent heat loss * Check windows for condensation or ice on the inside or if you can feel a breeze. These windows can be treated with weathering plastic. Find the snow shovels and your winter clothes because our Southern Alberta weather can turn on us in a flash! We estimate that the voter turnout was approximately 51%. Thank you to all those who were willing to put their name forward and to get involved in the process.
