Where are we ? Where are we ? Where do we want to Where do we want to go ?go ?

Then the LORD will be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians will know the LORD in that day, and will make sacrifice and offering; yes, they will make a vow to the LORD and perform it.  And the LORD will strike Egypt, He will strike and heal it; they will return to the LORD, and He will be

entreated by them and heal them.

In that day there will be a highway from Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian will come into Egypt and the Egyptian into Assyria, and the Egyptians will serve with the Assyrians.

In that day Israel will be one of three with Egypt and Assyria—a blessing in the midst of the land, 25 whom the LORD of hosts shall bless, saying: “Blessed is Egypt My people, and Assyria the work of My hands, and Israel My inheritance.”

(Isaiah 19: 21 – 25)

“That at the name of Jesus, every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is LORD.”

(Philippians 2: 10–11).

Met during a period of 5 years to reflect and produce a document.

It is a set of recommendations for

conduct on Christian witness around the world.

This document does not intend to be a theological statement on mission.

But to address practical issues associated with Christian witness in a multi-religious world.

A basis for Christian witness (7 points)

1.For Christians it is a privilege and joy to give an accounting for the hope that is within them and to do so with gentleness and respect.

2.Jesus Christ is the supreme witness.

3.The example and teaching of Jesus Christ and of the early church must be the guides for Christian mission.

4. In some contexts, living and

proclaiming the gospel is difficult, hindered or even prohibited, yet Christians are commissioned by Christ to continue faithfully in solidarity with one another in their witness to him.

5. Christian witness in a pluralistic world includes engaging in

dialogue with people of different religions and cultures.

6. If Christians engage in inappropriate methods of exercising mission by resorting to deception and coercive means, they betray the gospel and may cause suffering to others.

7. Christians affirm that while it is their responsibility to witness to Christ, conversion is ultimately the work of the Holy Spirit.

The Spirit blows where the Spirit wills in ways over which no human being has control.

Empowerment Development

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, known as the Mormons, teaches that God the father used to be a man on another planet, that he became a God by following the laws and ordinances of that God on that planet and came to this world with his wife (she became a goddess).

The Mormon Church says that the Bible is not really trustworthy

The book of Mormon is more correct than the Bible.

Salvation : A plan of salvation was needed for the people of earth so Jesus offered a plan to the Father and Satan offered a plan to the father but Jesus' plan was accepted.

Jesus' sacrifice was not able to cleanse us from all our sins, (murder and repeated adultery are exceptions),

There is no salvation without accepting Joseph Smith as a prophet of God

Furthermore, faithful Mormons, who pay a full 10% of their income to the Mormon temples, have the potential of becoming gods of their own planets and are then able to start the procedure over again.

Jesus warned us about such groups when he said in Matthew 24:24 that in the last days many false Christs and false prophets will arise and deceive many.

But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few.  Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” (Matthew 9:36-38)

People groups still unreached by the gospel

10 degrees latitude north of the equator to 40 degrees latitude north of the equator.

Center of population:Two-thirds of the world's population -- more than 4.4 billion people -- live in the 10/40 Window.

Unreached and unevangelized: 90% of the people living in the 10/40 window are unevangelized. Many have never heard the Gospel message even once.

Poverty: Eighty-five percent of those living in the 10/40 window are the poorest of the world's poor.

World religions: Islam, Buddhism and Hinduism are centered within the 10/40 window.

Least evangelized cities: Half of the world's least evangelized cities are in this window.

There's a difference between unreached and unreachable.

In 1989 there were only four known Christians living in Mongolia

That country now has an estimated 10,000 believers.

Christian television programming can now be received in many closed 10/40 Window nations.

Missions researcher David Barrett says the country with the most rapid Christian expansion ever is China where there are 10,000 new Christian converts every day.
