If you are a child of the 60’s, 70’s, or 80’s you are going to recognize most of the people that are on this list.
The Stars of the 70’s are still fairly relevant today. They are regularly in movies, have charity causes they support, and are seen routinely on the red carpet. Most of them have managed to age pretty well!
It’s hard to stay in the Hollywood spotlight as one ages, but these 70’s stars manage to do it with style. Here’s is what this list of high level stars is up to today.
Remember “Dirty Harry” Callahan? This is one of Clint Eastwood’s most iconic roles that he played back in a series of movies that started in 1971 catapulting him to stardom. Not only did Clint manage to conquer the acting world with a variety of roles, but he also directs, winning an Oscar for “Unforgiven” and “Million Dollar Baby.”

This perfect “10” actress starred in a variety of films in the 70’s and 80’s. She’s also famous for her role in the 1995 hit comedy with Chris Farley, “Tommy Boy.” You can most often find her nowadays on her ranch raising her prize winning Andalusian horses. She also dates fellow actor, John Corbett since 2002.
Bo Derek
It doesn’t get any more famous than this “Barbarella” actress who made a variety of films since the 60’s as part of a very well known acting family. Lately you can find her on the television show “Grace and Frankie” on Netflix with fellow “9 To 5” star, Lily Tomlin.
Jane Fonda
One of the most awarded actors of this generation, De Niro has been in many films since the 60’s. He won a best actor Oscar for his role in “Raging Bull.” His most recent film was a dramedy starring Anne Hathaway called “The Intern.”
Robert De Niro
Most famous for her television role in the 80’s as “Wonder Woman”, this former model and actress can be seen on the arm of her husband, attorney Robert Altman. Stepping back from Hollywood in the 90’s allowed her to raise her two children. Lately she is a regular on a variety of different television shows such as “Law and Order.
Lynda Carter
Known for a variety of big box office 70/80’s movies like “Cannonball Run”, “Smokey and The Bandit”, and “Deliverance.” The last big movie role he had was “Boogie Nights” in 1997. Mainly he spends his time nowadays on his Florida Ranch.
Burt Reynolds
As one of the most popular television actresses in the 80’s and 90’s, Jane Seymour played on “Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman”. She was a Bond Girl in the 1973 film, “Live and Let Die.” Recently she just divorced her fourth husband, Stacy Keach and continues to take small roles on a variety of television shows.

Known for two of the most iconic roles in film, Han Solo in the “Star Wars” sagas, and Indiana Jones in those films of the same name, you can bet that Harrison Ford is still a top box office draw. He still routinely makes great films, is married to fellow actress Calista Flockhart, and most recently had a mishap in the form of a helicopter crash. He starred and died as Han Solo in the last Star Wars film “The Force Awakens”.

As a popular singer and actress in the 70’s and 80’s, Olivia Newton-John turned heads in “Grease” as Sandy and in the cult classic, “Xanadu.” Her music is widely known around the world, and many of her albums have gone multi-platinum. Mostly during the 90’s she dedicated herself to motherhood of her daughter, Chloe. Lately she’s been a guest judge on “Dancing With the Stars” and ‘Ru-Paul’s Drag Show.”
Olivia Newton-John
A great actress known for her role in “Rosemary’s Baby” in 1968, and around 50 other films over the years. She is also well known for her marriages to Frank Sinatra and Woody Allen. Now at 71-years-old she mainly enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, and her various charitable causes. She is the mom to 14 children in total, 10 of whom were adopted.

You like her, you really like her! Sally Field is one of the most popular actresses of her generation. Some of her most famous roles include the mom in “Forrest Gump, “Mrs. Doubtfire”, and “Steel Magnolias.” Her latest film has received a ton of attention, because she plays the love interest of a much younger man in “Hello My Name Is Doris.”

As far as actors go, it doesn’t get any more famous than Robert Redford. Some of his classic roles include parts in “The Natural”, “The Way We Were”, and “Out of Africa.” Most recently he played the bad guy in “Captain America: Civil War” and an oddball film with Nick Nolte called, “ A Walk In The Woods.” Other than film roles, he’s very active in charitable causes, and his film festival each year, Sundance in Utah.

Playing a Bond girl in the 1977 film, “The Spy Who Loved Me” put Barbara on the map. Currently she’s also married to the Beatles drummer, Ringo Starr and they have The Lotus Foundation charity they devote considerable time to. Today she also has a degree in psychology (1993), and is content to tag along after her husband when he tours.

An actor who has been steadily working since the 60’s in such roles as “Scent of a Women”, “Scarface”, and “The Godfather.” His last movie role was that of “Danny Collins” in 2015. He’s been married three times, and is one of the few actors to hold awards in all categories of acting. An Oscar, a Tony, and an Emmy all grace his mantel.

As an English actress most notably for her roles in “Airport”, “The Deep” and various television roles, lately she devotes most of her time to smaller roles as she nears 71. She was recently in “Miss You Already” with Drew Barrymore and Toni Collette.

One of the hottest actors in the 80’s and 90’s, you can bet that Michael Douglas is just happy to be alive. He recently overcame a bout with Throat Cancer. He is married currently to Catherine Zeta Jones, and they have two children together. His latest role was as Dr. Hank Pym in the mega blockbuster movie, “AntMan” with Paul Rudd.

Considered one of the best looking woman alive even at 75-years-old has given this actress an air of hotness that persists. Her biggest roles were in the 60’s in “Fantastic Voyage” and “Bedazzled.” She’s had many guest starring roles on television shows, like “The Muppet Show,” and “CSI: Miami.”

Known for being a ladies man, Jack Nicholson has had a variety of iconic roles over the years. “A Few Good Men”, “Chinatown”, “Easy Rider”, and “The Shining” are just a few in his film career that has spanned four decades. With 12 Oscar nominations he leads that as the most for any man in Hollywood.

One of the most celebrated actresses of all time, Meryl Streep continues to work in film today. Her last role was in “Ricki and The Flash.” No one will ever forget her in “Kramer Vs. Kramer” or “Sophie’s Choice” in the 80’s. She has been nominated for a total of 19 Oscar nominations which is the most of any actor ever. Don Gummer is her husband and they have four children together.

Danny Zuko in “Grease” may be one of his best roles in the 80’s, but he’s made over 70 other films. Married to Kelly Preston, they have three children together. Active in the church of Scientology, John also has extensive property including his own airport.

One of the most well known actors in the world, Richard Dreyfuss is famous for such roles in “Mr. Hollands Opus”, “American Graffiti”, and “Jaws.” Lately he hasn’t been in anything notable, expect he just played Bernie Madoff and “Madoff” a made for television movie about the famous Ponzi scheme investment scandal.

Probably most famous for her role on the television show, “Three’s Company” in the 80’s, Suzanne is a lifestyle guru now having published a few books on how to live a healthier life and age well. Last year she also appeared on the ABC show, “Dancing With The Stars.” She finished in 9th place. At almost 70-years-old though, she still looks amazing.

It doesn’t get any better than Rocky! Stallone recently won a Golden Globe for playing the title hero in “Creed”, which is the 7th Rocky film last year. He has steadily worked since the 70’s in films like, “The Expendables”, “Rambo”, and “Get Carter.” Married for almost twenty years to model Jennifer Flavin, they have three daughters together. Stallone has five children in total which keeps him very busy when he’s not acting.

This “Laugh In” lovely has been a major power player in the film industry since the 70’s with such roles in “Private Benjamin”, “The First Wives Club”, and “Overboard.” She’s been with partner and actor Kurt Russell for over thirty years. She has two acting children, Kate Hudson and Oliver Hudson who regularly appear in films and TV shows. The last role Goldie had was in 2002 called “The Banger Sisters.”

Many people remember her with Warren Beatty in “Bonnie and Clyde”, and “Chinatown” with Jack Nicholson. Today she is still acting in small film roles, TV guest appearances, and even on stage.
Faye Dunaway
This much loved actress has been active since the 60’s. You can see her in some of great films like “Father of The Bride”, “Annie Hall”, and “Baby Boomer.” She also played Kay Corleone in “The Godfather.” Her two children keep her busy because she adopted them late in life in 1996 and 2002. She’ll play Jenny in “Finding Dory” the sequel to “Finding Nemo” which will be out something next year.

Another of the most famous well known actors in the world, Dustin was in “RainMan”, “The Graduate”, and “Kramer Vs. Kramer.” Most recently he was a voice in the third sequel to “Kung Fu Panda.”

As a director it doesn’t get any more iconic than Woody Allen. As a person, well we won’t go there, but let’s just say he ended up marrying his adopted daughter Soon-Yi after leaving her mother, Mia Farrow. Today he still makes films at 80-years-old, his last being “The Irrational Man” with Joaquin Phoenix and Emma Stone.

When Gene Wilder lost his wife comedienne Gilda Radner to cancer he kind of fell out of the spotlight in the 80’s. His film roles include, “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory”, “Young Frankenstein”, and “The Woman In Red.” Now he likes to write, and has a few books published, but hasn’t acted in a film since 1999.

In films like “Jaws the Revenge” didn’t put Michael Caine in the public’s consciousness, but other roles like Alfred in the new Batman Dark Knight Trilogy with Christian Bale have made him something of an icon. He has been nominated for an Oscar in every decade of his long career.

An actor’s actor who appeared as Tom Hagen in “The Godfather.” Over his long career he has made numerous highly successful films. At 85-years-old he still acts, and most recently was nominated for an Oscar for the film with Robert Downey Jr. called “The Judge.”
