POST OFFICE VOCABULARY

When you wish to write to someone, you can either write using a letter or a postcard.

If you want to send someone a gift, you can send someone a package.

If you write a letter, don’t forget to put it in an envelope!

Either on the envelope or on the post card, remember to put your address in case your mail gets lost.

You also need to include the address of the person you’re sending the mail to.

A stamp goes on the post card or letter. The stamp tells the postal worker that you paid to have your letter delivered.

After you are finished writing, you need to put your mail in your mailbox.

The postal worker comes and picks up the mail in a mail truck.

He/she puts the mail into a mail bag.

THE POSTAL WORKER TAKES THE MAIL TO THE POST OFFICE.

That’s where they sort the mail.

After the mail is sorted, the postal worker uses street signs to get to where he needs to go.
