STAINBROOK - HAMMER ALL-AMERICANROSEMONT, ILL., June 12, 2015 – Hammer Strength, a Life Fitness-owned performance brand of strength equipment, in partnership with the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa), named Matt Stainbrook of Xavier University and Lauren Okafor of James Madison University as the win-ners of the 2015 Hammer Strength All-American Award. These winners exemplify the best of what it takes to become an elite athlete. To be considered as a Hammer Strength All-American, athletes were judged on their personal qualities and achievements in terms of work ethic, leadership, consistency and academic performance. Winners were announced at the CSCCa annual national conference at the Master Strength and Conditioning Coaches Dinner and Ceremony on Friday, May 8, 2015, in Nashville, Tenn. "With the Hammer Strength All-American Award, we recognize and celebrate collegiate athletes who lead the way in superior performance, both on and off the court," said Chris Clawson, president, Life Fitness. "We congratulate Lauren and Matt for their tireless work ethics and academic performance, as well as the inspiring example they set for others." Passion On and Off the Court Shapes Winners Male winner Matt Stainbrook of Xavier University led his men's basketball team in the BIG East Champion-ship Game, as well as to the Sweet 16 Round of the NCAA Tournament. As an athlete, he selflessly aided the team with enthusiasm, intensity and determination, while staying devoted to a competitive strength and conditioning program to transform his body and refine his work ethic. In the community, Stainbrook is a volunteer for Cincinnati Children's Hospital and the Down Syndrome Association. Currently, he holds a 3.42 GPA as a graduate student pursuing a Master's degree in Business Administration. Stainbrook was nominated by his strength and conditioning coaches for his leadership skills and academic accomplish-ments. "Hammer Strength continues to help college athletes across the country refine their performance and reach their true potential," Clawson said. "These athletes demonstrate that the dedication applied in the weight room can be translated to other aspects of life, and we're proud to honor their efforts."

This award is a tremendous acknowledgement of the hard work both Matt Stainbrook and Head Strength Coach Matt Jennings have put in over Matt’s three years at Xavier. Matt Jennings is entering his seventh year as the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at Xavier for the 2015-16 academic year. His responsibilities include overseeing the entire XU Athletics Strength and Conditioning Department, as well as working directly with the Men's Basketball Program. WORKOUT #1

Warm Up: Star DrillReach out, reverse, 2 ft power, PUJ

Back to Basket: Contact Crabs Start just inside the 3pt line, spin the ball out and crab dribble (pad if possible) to the post. Make 5 of each of the following finishes on both sides...50 total a. Nudge Wall = ML JH b. Loosen Wall = ½

counter ML JH c. Spin Off Wall = Counter

JH d. Beat Wall = Pro Hop e. Run Off Wall = Sweep

Finishing: ORBs Start in front of the rim and toss the ball off of the back board. Grab it at its highest peak, come down, and explode up to finish (pad). Repeat for 10 makes. Alternate hands. 2 sets = 20.

Face Up: Face Up Series Start in the long post, spin it out, and execute the following moves on both sides…5 reps each movea. Rip = 2ft power b. Rip = Counter c. Rip = Per. to Post d. Fake Rip = Pro

Hop/Over You Finish e. Fake Rip = Pro Hop/Up

and Under f. Fake Rip = Sweeping JH g. Reverse Pivot Js

Shooting: Celtic Drill Start in the right corner. Make 2 3s in a row at 5 spots and quickly repeat for a grand total of 10 spots. Must make 2 in a row at each spot in 2 minutes.

WORKOUT #2

Warm Up: Mikans/Reverse; Block to Block Shooting Make 10 of each

Back to Basket: Physical Duck-Ins Start with head under the rim. If possible, have a pad. Duck pad in, catch with a foot in the box, and execute the following finishes…(1 dribble max) a. ML JH b. Counter JH Reset and duck pad in on opposite block. Continue to alternate until 10 makes. Make 10 ML JHs then 10 Counter JHs.

Finishing: Extensions Start in front of the rim and have balls shuffled to you repeatedly. Step to the pass and bounce up and finish with a “half hook.” Finish 10 RH and 10 LH. Work on “in between/over you finish”

Face Up: Knock Off Drives Start with the ball in the corner (spin it out) and quickly pivot (alternate reverse and front). Play in a straight line and finish with 2 ft power at 5 spots going right to start. Repeat coming back going left. Must make every shot or go again.

Shooting: Round Shooting Make 5 at 5 spots in 2 minutes. 17ftrs. and 3s.

WORKOUT #3

Warm Up: Sideline TouchesReach out, 2ft power, stride stop and step thru, PUJ

Back to Basket: Snatches Make 10 each way = 60 Cover ground with drop step and extend on every finish!

Finishing: Explosion DunksStart in front of the rim and defensive slide from lane to lane as balls are slid, shuffled, etc. Step to each pass and bounce up and dunk it. Defensive slide until the next pass is made. Make 10.

Face Up: Post Trailer Explosion Start at half court and sprint to catch at top of key. Start with the strong side drive and execute the following finishes… a. Reach out b. 2 ft power c. Perimeter to Post d. ETR Floater (PACE) e. ETR 1 dribble PUJ

(PACE)Complete these same finishes using the cross over step to your weak hand. Make 3 of each = 30

Shooting: 5 Shot Post Start at half court and execute the following finishes… a. Transition Dunk (reach) b. Elbow J c. SBS Pop J d. Reverse Pivot J e. 1 on 1 in post 2 sets best out of 10 each side.
