David's professional background is in economics, infrastructure, project management and public policy. He has had a distinguished and successful career at senior levels of the State’s public and private sectors and his department has responsibility for the delivery of Queen’s Wharf Brisbane, the largest private property development in the nation, and for delivering additional regional Queensland Integrated Resort

Developments.

David will speak about the strong growth in international tourism visitation and expenditure and why the Government is actively seeking investment into Integrated Resort Developments like the $3B Queen’s Wharf Brisbane project. Expected to be completed in 2022, Queen’s Wharf Brisbane will deliver a new casino to replace to existing Treasury Casino, 5 new premium hotels with more than 1000 rooms including a Ritz Carlton and Brisbane’s first six star hotel, 50 new restaurants, bars and cafes, around 2000 residential apartments, more than 12 football fields of public space including a Sky Deck 100 metres above William Street and open to the public. Queen’s Wharf Brisbane is expected to attract 1.4 million additional tourists

per year, employ up to 2000 people during peak construction and 8000 staff when operational.
