REPORTSFROMSTAFFExecutiveDirectorBenardsaidthatinthepackettherewerewrittenfollowupreportsregardingthelightingattheCommunityCenter,DecembergolfexpensesandElliottLake.ConcerningElliotLake,BenardstatedthatwithBoardagreement,staffwillbeseekingEngineeringproposalsfortheerosionproblemthere.Benardreportedthat,attheNationalRecreationandParksAssociationConferenceinearlyNovember,TheWheatonParkDistrictReceivedaFinalistMedalforbeingnamedoneofthetopfouragenciesintheNationforExcellenceinParksandRecreationManagementforcommunitieswith50,000to100,000population.NootherIllinoisParkDistrictwassohonoredinthispopulationcategory.CommissionerVanderSchaafaskedwhatwillbedonewiththeresultsoftheLeisureshipsurvey.ExecutiveDirectorBenardsaidthatthisLeisureshipprogramfallsundertheStrategicPlanChartercalledAccesstoRecreationforAll.Theresultsofthesurveywillbeusedtoimprovetheprogram.QuarterlyreportsaregiventotheBoardonStrategicPlanProgressCommissionerLuetkehansrequestedfollowupreportsontheCommunityCenterLightingandtheDecemberGolfdeficit.HeislookingforareportonifcostscanbereducedinDecemberorifthatisnotanoption.Hedidn’tthinkthismemoaddressedthis.Whenherequestsamemofromstaffheexpectstoseeananswerorasuggestionfromstaff.HewantstoknowifparttimestaffcanbeeliminatedduringDecemberandfulltimestaffdotheworkoftheparttimestaff.CommissionerMeesaidthatthepaintingatParksPlusFitnesslooksgood.HealsospokepositivelyabouttheEmployeeReliefFund.HethoughtthattheRecDepartmentsreportontheitemsthattheParkDistrictStaffcollectedanddonatedtoMarianParkResidentswascommendable.Healsocommendedthezoostaffonentryfeescollected.PresidentMorrillalsocommendedStaffontheirworkwithMarianPark.Heaskedifthe2011accomplishmentswereonthewebsite.ExecutiveDirectorBenardsaidthatbrieferversionwillbepostedonthewebsite.
