phew I don’t have to deal with other people.
Gas and parking are the only fees that
drivers are cognizant of.
If parking is free and gas is under $5 a
gallon then why wouldn’t I drive?
Scarcity of parking will lead to
transit/biking/car sharing.
Changing the price of parking can be
effective.
If you are going to play with the cost and
limit availability, there must be systems in
place to overcome mobility and
accessibility issues.

that to users to determine transportation. • A parking spot costs $100 a month.
• Users can get $100 a month for the following
options:

$80 transit pass (pocket the $20)
$25 into bike stuff (pocket $75)

Parking and community that college is
located in will determine transportation
patterns.
By limiting supply of parking you can
create transit users, pedestrians and
bicyclists – if that is the school’s interest.
