For the Festival of Archaeology 2014, a Roman blacksmith will give free demonstrations of his art. In addition, there’ll be a creative workshop for you to make crafts with wire and embossed foil. £2 per person.

Fri 27 June – Fri 30 January 2015 EQUUS – the Horse at WarWe mark the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War by looking at the role of the horse in Roman warfare. Includes interpretation of the recently discovered Caerleon horse’s head armour.

Tues 1 July – Thurs 16 October Pain and Passion – the Opium PoppyTelling the story of the poppy in Roman times and how it is linked to the First World War.
