4 September – 3 October 2015The Melbourne Festival brings a celebration of the
creative and performing arts to this gem of a village.
This year the Festival is putting a strong focus on talented Derbyshire artists, performers and artisan foodmakers as part of ‘Made in Derbyshire 2015’ a
celebration of all things made in the county. To whet your appetites look out for artists including Rachel
Carter, Louise Roe and Laura Donaldson on the Trail, performances by James Rippingdale, 1623 Theatre Company and A Choir’d Taste and fantastic food by
BitterSweet Chocolate and Forteys Fudges!
The centrepiece of the month long event is the Art & Architecture Trail which takes place over
the weekend of the 19 & 20 September. The Trail brings a late Summer splash of colour and energy to Melbourne with over 100 artists in 70 venues.
Visiting professional artists are hosted in rooms made available in private houses. Featuring a variety of
mediums and styles of work, there is something for every taste and pocket.

Henry V was a complex man; A cultured and
courteous statesman and administrator, but also
a religious bigot and completely ruthless. Today
he would probably even be accused of war
crimes. Six hundred years ago Henry V achieved
a great victory over the French at Agincourt
on October 25th 1415. Ultimately though, his
victory achieved little. Henry died in France
seven years later, leaving behind an infant
son, during whose reign nearly all the gains in
France would be lost.
