“KELPIE KORNER” HAS IT ALL:YARD DOG ACTION - SEATING - SHADE – WATER - BUS STOP - FOOD - PUPPIES

The two feature events this year include the COPRICE South East Field Days Championship and the ELDERS Novice Championship Challenge.

COPRICE South East Field Days Championship will be run on similar lines to our State Championship, so all entrants must be experienced open class workers. This event will commence on Saturday morning. The judge will be well known judge from New South Wales, Chris Sellars.

ELDERS Novice Championship Challenge is open to all dogs that have won a novice yard dog event since the last South East Field Days. Several of the competitors have gone through all their classes and may already be eligible to trial in an open event while others may have only recently won their first novice trial. This event has attracted great interest by handlers since it was introduced as an event at the Field Days, as the winner incurs no class penalty but receives an attractive monetary prize. This event will be the first event held on Thursday.

Popular supporting events programmed include the NARACOORTE HOTEL MOTEL Encourage, BAYER Maiden, NARACOORTE HOTEL MOTEL Novice, RJC EVANS & Co Improver and the LUCINDALE ENGINEERING Open.

Handlers and their dogs from interstate and South Australia along with their supporters will converge on Lucindale for the three days of trialling to compete for lucrative prize money and trophies.

The first events on Thursday 14th March will be the BAYER Maiden class on course two & the ELDERS Novice Championship Challenge followed by the RJC EVANS & Co Improver class on course 1. The first round of

the LUCINDALE ENGINEERING Open class & the NARACOORTE HOTEL MOTEL Novice are programmed for Friday. The KEATLEY LIVESTOCK Encourage class will be run first up on Saturday morning on course 2 & the COPRICE South East Field Days Championship will be finalised on Saturday on course 1.

Watervalley Pastoral, Graetz’s Livestock Carriers, Crown Inn, Raidis Estate, Keatley Livestock, Mini Jumbuck and the South East Field Days committee generously support the trial.

Excellent facilities for the viewing public are available at a site which is regarded as one of the most challenging trial venues in Australia.

“Kelpie Korner” in the north western corner of Yakka Park is where all the action will take place.
