Existing operations can be converted to toolpath features which can then be completely edited and customised. Toolpath features can also be used to create custom lines or blocks of code to be inserted into NC Code. 3D Simulation Starting Point Simulation has been enhanced in Delcam for SolidWorks 2014 with the ability to start 3D simulation from the middle, preventing the need to start it from the beginning every time. Anti-aliased Tool/Holder/Spindle Display Delcam for SolidWorks 2014 offers a more attractive display of tools and holders thanks to use of anti-aliasing in the display window. Anti-aliasing of the tool display can be disabled if your graphics card or driver cannot support the anti-aliasing. 2.5D Features and Improvements New Technology Finishing Toolpaths New Technology (NT) toolpaths in Delcam for SolidWorks 2014 have been extended to finishing operations, giving more control and easier programming of 2-axis finishing. General Features and Improvements

Toolpath Editing

Delcam for SolidWorks 2014 provides you with more flexibility and control over specific toolpath points with the aid of toolpath editing. Existing operations can be converted to toolpathfeatureswhichcanthenbecompletelyeditedandcustomised.Toolpathfeaturescan also be used to create custom lines or blocks of code to be inserted into NC Code.

Check Surfaces for New Technology Toolpaths

2.5-axis programming in Delcam for SolidWorks 2014 is easier than ever with the new ability to identify certain surfaces as check surfaces tobe avoided.This isparticularlyusefulforclampsandcanbeappliedtobothNTroughingandfinishingtoolpaths.

Automatic Clamp Avoidance for New Technology Toolpaths

Delcam for SolidWorks 2014 introduces even easier collision-free 2.5D programming with the automatic avoidance of clamps. Clamps are chosen in the same way as for simulation, but now collision check against the clamp models using a new option. Requiring the NewTechnologytoolpathsforroughingandfinishing,theamountofclearancecanbeindividually controlled by setting separate radial and axial allowances.

4th Axis Wrapping

Better support for 4-axis rotary tables in Delcam for SolidWorks 2014 allows 2- or 3-axis operations to be wrapped around the rotary axis. Flat sketches can be used for feature profiles and then wrapped. Wrapped features can also be created directly from SolidWorks design features. Wrapped features are supported equally well for turn/mill applications.

3D Milling Features and Improvements

3D Spiral: In to Out

Delcam for SolidWorks 2014 offers better control of 3D spiral toolpaths. Previously only an out-to-in style was available; now in-to-out is also an option, ideal for machining toward and up the walls of cavities.

Turning and Turn/Mill Features and Improvements Automatic Corner Filleting

Programming your turned parts has been made even faster and easier with the ability to automatically deburr sharp edges of a turn or bore feature. Sharp corners can be automatically filleted by simply specifying a radius in the feature dimensions tab, without havingtoeditthegeometry.Thesideoftheroundingcanalsobeflipped,dependingupon whether you are turning or boring.

Steady-Rest Support

Theabilitytoprogramandsimulatesteady-restshasbeenaddedtoDelcamforSolidWorks2014. Steady-rests will be typically used for large turning jobs, so accurate simulation of their location is essential to safe programming.

Tailstock Support

In addition to Steady-Rest support, Delcam for SolidWorks 2014 also includes tailstock support.Thetailstockisusedonturningjobstoholdalongpartoncentre,soonceagain,accurate simulation is essential.
