- Non-Diet – These pops are usually loaded with HFCS (High Fructose Corn Syrup). Want a sweeter taste?Kids sometimes have a HUGE sweet tooth. Even the added sweet taste of the banana isn’t enough for them. They want it to taste like candy. The solution isn’t sugar though…it’s stevia. Stevia isn’t a chemical sweetener like aspartame or sucralose, it doesn’t have the side effect of making some people even hungrier like artificial sweeteners can. It’s made from the stevia leaf, and it does not affect blood sugar. It tastes sweet, but that’s all. Mixing stevia powder (now available in most grocery stores) into the fruits as you blend will result in a much sweeter pop, but without the unhealthy added sugar. It’s so powerful that usually 1/8th teaspoon per batch will do…but you can do a taste-test to check the flavor yourself.

Remember:Fruits vary in their amount of sweetness. You may or may not need an added sweet boost…it just depends on your choice of fruits.

1. Today’s fruits & vegetables aren’t as nutritious as they once were-Depleted, over-farmed soil, chemical fertilizers, & plants genetically modified to withstand harsh pesticides all contribute to a loss of nutrients. Sure, broccoli is still good for you, but common, grocery-store shelf broccoli isn’t as good for you as it once was.
