Analysis of dissolved organic carbonsTypically, organic matter content can be measured as dissolved organic carbon (DOC), which is an importantcomponent of the carbon cycle. DOC is dened as the organic matter that is able to pass through a lter,typically one with a 0.45 m pore size.

Whatman Anotop IC lters are suitable for the preparation ofsamples for subsequent Ion Chromatography.

These lters contain a proprietary alumina-based AnoporeTMmembrane that exhibits very low levels of anion leaching(e.g., uoride, sulde, nitrate, nitrite) during IC testing.
