Our DP demo environment is fully virtualized and hosts applications such as Exchange, Sharepoint, Oracle, SQL, PostgreSQL, SAP HANA 2.0. Last week we upgraded it to 10.10. The process was smooth and easy. Once the cell manager was upgraded, we then pushed out agents to all the clients, tested backups, restores and VMware GRE and it all worked flawlessly. We also deployed the report server. This server supports all the new advanced reporting in DP natively. About upgrading to Data Protector 10.10

Your existing licenses continue to be active. We recommend that you upgrade to take advantage of the new features. DP 10.10 is a one step upgrade from

DP 8.1 or DP 9.x.

There is no forced migration to DP Editions. You have an option to migrate to the new editions in order to use all new product capabilities.

When you upgrade to DP 10.10:

Data Protector capacity customers automatically get integrated reporting,

install/upgrade improvements and enterprise readiness features

Data Protector traditional customers gain install/upgrade and enterprise readiness

improvements. Integrated reporting is available only with a migration to DP Express/Premium

• DP now has a built-in rotation for the size of Server.log to not overwhelm this file's capacitywhile DP installation is ongoing. DP limits the file size itself and set the number of files rotated (can be edited in standalone.xml).
