What we need

• Cherry picker with free access to ALL of the IP side of YE±1– This means both far and near sides

• About 2h35’ per point (6 points per endcap)

• About 5h20’ for just one point (see ahead)

Page 6: What we need

• The *only* ME±1/2 CSCs that need to be removed in YE±1 are– ME+1/2/11

• ME+1/2/10 and ME+1/2/12 must also come off

– ME+1/2/15• ME+1/2/14 and ME+1/2/16 must also come off

• Link has sensors on ME+1/2/14

• Apart from this, ONLY ME11 parts from link alignment need to be removed

• In the following, the steps in blue are needed only at this particular point

Page 7: What we need

Disassembly Steps (per point)• Access with the cherry picker to the position, 20’.• Open the cover of the ME11transfer plate Patch Panel, four M4 slotted countersunk

(flat) head screws, 10’.• Unplug two Radial ASPDs cables, and one Radial proximity cables, 15’.• Open two covers of the ME11 transfer plate, five M4 slotted countersunk (flat) head

screws each, 10’. (Open only one cover for the ME11 operation, 5’)• Unplug Z and RPhi proximity sensor cables and temperature sensor cables of the

transfer plate, 20’. • Unplug the two ME1/2 ASPDs cables, and un-route cables on ME1/2. 25’. • Disassembly ME1/2 chamber ASPDs. Two M6 slotted screws and two pins. 20’.• Disassembly ME1/1 Z and RPhi proximity sensor and temperature piece of the

transfer plate, two allen M5 screws + two pin holes, 20’. • Unplug R proximity sensor cable of the ME1/1 chamber, 10’. • Disassembly ME1/1 chamber device, two allen M6 screws + two pin holes, 25’. • Disassembly the radial piece of the ME1/1 transfer plate, two allen M5 screws + two

pin holes. Back access very complicated due to a lot of cables/tubes running around. 1h30’.

• Close the covers of the ME1/1 transfer plate and the Patch Panel and sealing all remaining devices in this area. 35’ (For the ME1/1 operation only, 30’)

• Descend with the cherry picker. 10’

• Total 5h20’ per point (only one such point in LS1)• For just ME1/1 stuff: 2h35’ (6 such points per endcap)

Assembly Steps• Access with the cherry picker to the position, 20’.• Open the covers of the ME1/1 transfer plate and the Patch Panel and the sealing.

Five M4 slotted countersunk (flat) head screws each, 15’.• Assemble the radial piece of the ME1/1 transfer plate, two allen M5 screws + two pin

holes. Back access very complicated due to a lot of cables/tubes running around. 2h15’.

• Assemble ME1/1 chamber device, two allen M6 screws + two pin holes, 35’. • Plug R proximity sensor cable of the ME1/1 chamber, 15’. • Assemble ME1/1 Z and RPhi proximity sensor and temperature piece of the transfer

plate, two allen M5 screws + two pin holes, 25’. • Plug Z and RPhi proximity sensor cables and temperature sensor cables of the

transfer plate, 25’. • Assemble ME1/2 chamber ASPDs. Two M6 slotted screws and two pins. 30’.• Plug the two ME1/2 ASPDs cables, and re-route cables on ME1/2. 35’. • Close two covers of the ME1/1 transfer plate, five M4 slotted countersunk (flat) head

screws each,15’.• Plug two Radial ASPDs cables, and one Radial proximity cable, 20’.• Close the cover of the ME1/1 transfer plate PP, four M4 slotted countersunk (flat)

head screws, 15’.• Seal all devices in this area until the start of the next LHC running. 25’• Descend with the cherry picker. 10’
