What To Do When A Spill Occurs

Food Spills: Scoop up the food with a plastic spoon. Blot the area dry with a white cloth. Clean the area with disinfecting dish liquid on a warm wet sponge. Spray the area with StoneTech Revitalizer. Wipe dry with a clean cloth.

Liquid Spills: Blot away the excess liquid with a clean, dry, white cloth; turning the cloth frequently. Spray the area with Revitalizer. Wipe dry with a clean cloth.

Oily Stains: If you identify a stain as having oil base you may be able to remove the stain using StoneTech Heavy Duty Oil Stain Remover.

Etch Marks: Highly acidic substances, such as orange juice, coffee, vinegar, wine, tomato products, mustard, and soft drinks, will etch the finish of most marble, limestone, and travertine surfaces regardless of whether the stone is sealed or unsealed. These substances may also etch the polish of granite. Sealers may allow you time to wipe up a spill before it absorbs into the stone, but it cannot stop the chemical reaction that may leave a dull, or etched area in the stone.

Quick Care Tips

DON’T use vinegar, bleach, ammonia, or other general purpose cleaners.

DON’T use cleaners that contain acid such as bathroom cleansers, grout cleansers, tub and tile cleaners.

DON’T use abrasive cleaners such as dry cleansers or soft cleansers.

DON’T use alkaline cleansers not specifically formulated for natural stone.

KEEP IN MIND that natural stone scratches natural stone. Please take into consideration any product or material that may contain natural stone.

ü Use coasters under oil bottles and drinking

glasses, especially if they contain alcohol

or citrus juices.

ü Use trivets or hot pads under hot dishes or

cookware. While granite and marble will

not burn, any food baked onto the bottom

of the dish could stain the stone.

silver or other objects that may scratch the

surface of your stone.

ü Dust countertops, islands, vanities, and

natural stone floors frequently.
