What kind of media institution might distribute your media product?

Who I chose to publish my magazine.

What kind of media institution would I want?

To publish my magazine I would like a media institution who is popular, so they would better at advertising my magazine and getting it in to the mainstream market. But also one willing to try new music magazine genres so that they would be happy to publish my magazine, since Jazz isn't as popular as it use to be.

Which media institution I chose.

I choose Bauer Media Group because they are one of the biggest magazine publishing companies and so they would be able to get my magazine in to the mainstream. Also the music magazines they publish are in the rock genre.

They publish Kerrang!, MOJO and Q which cover quite niche genres such as heavy metal and indie rock. So if Bauer can make magazines with such niche markets into some of the best selling music magazines then surely they can do that for my magazine to.

Likewise having a different genre of magazine would help them to expand their target audience and reach out to a different group of people, earning them more money. Also they could expand their advertising audience and have more advertising companies pay them to feature in my magazine because my magazine would target and audience completely different from MOJO or Q.
