West Chester ConnectWest Chester Connect is a partnership between

CitySourced and the Borough of West Chester.

CitySourced

CitySourced is a real time mobile civic engagement platform.

CitySourced provides a simple and intuitive platform empowering residents to identify civic issues (public safety, quality of life, environmental issues, etc.) and report them to city hall for quick resolution; an opportunity for government to use technology to save time and money plus improve accountability to those they govern; and a positive, collaborative platform for real action.

What is CitySourced?

West Chester Connect is very simply a new tool that can be used to report issues that need attention by the staff. Once the issue has been reported the reporting citizen can receive “push notifications” with updates on the reported issue.

Citizens can also see and review all public issues reported on their mobile device or their computer.

“West Chester Connect” is available on Apple, Android, Blackberry & Windows phones. Just search in the app store for “West Chester Connect” or “West Chester”.

Register Your West Chester Connect?

The first thing you should do after downloading West Chester Connect is to register your phone.

By registering your app you will help the Borough staff contact you for more information about your incident if necessary.

The only information asked for is your name, email address and if you want, your phone number.

This information is not shared with the public!


Exploring West Chester Connect?

The home screen is where you submit a report. More on that

later.

The reports tab will allow you to view all of your reports in either Map View (pins) or List View. From

here you can select any of your reports and view the details.

When you select a report you will be able to see all of the information related to the action taken.

Using West Chester Connect?

Select “Submit a Report.

Select “Create Image/Photo” or “Video” or “Audio”.

Take Your Photo and select “Use”



The App will try to determine your

location.

You can move the target to display your location.

Because “West Chester Connect” uses GPS it will automatically try and determine your location. By moving the blue target you can further define the location of the issue.

When you are satisfied select “Done”.


Tip! Be sure to double check the location and make sure it is accurate! Remember that the The GPS is looking at where you currently are located which may not be exactly where the issue is.


Simply browse through the pick list until you

find the “issue”.

Add more details about the incident here.

After you have selected the location choose the best description of the issue using the app’s pick list. Select “done” when you find it.

After the location and issue type are selected be sure to type a description of the issue in the box titled, “Anything else to tell us?”.

You can report anything here. You should enter as more information about the location here as well as anything else that will help our staff check out the incident.



If you do not register the app you will be prompted for your

information.

You can review all of the issues you have submitted using the “Reports” tab.


Accessing West Chester Connect on your PC.

You can connect to “West Chester Connect” through the CitySourced website at www.citysourced.com.

From this CitySourced homepage you will see a live map of all the communities connected to CitySourced and a live look at active work orders being reported.

Watch closely you may see one of ours if you stare long enough!

It is recommended that you register with the CitySourced. You can do this by selecting “Join Now” on the upper right of the webpage.

You can also sign up with your Facebook account.



If you choose to “Connect With Facebook” you will be prompted to login with your Facebook information.



You can find “West Chester” by typing “West Chester” in the “Find It…” box. Select “West Chester, Pennsylvania” and you will be transported to our part of the service.



Once you land on the West Chester page at CitySourced you will see a local map with “pins” displaying issues reported.

On the bottom you will see the most recent issues reported. You can select on any of these to check out the details.



When you select a specific incident you be able to read the work order process, other reports that are nearby and leave a comment as well.



You can also add a new report on the website as well. This is especially useful if you did not have the time to submit a report while you were mobile.

One the right side of our webpage simple select “File a New Report”.



Once you select “File a New Report” you will be prompted to enter the following information: Location

What Are You Reporting?Describe What You Are Reporting.

If you have an image you can attach it.
