Guatemala Literacy Project (GLP)
• Books in 4 subjects: math, science, social studies and Spanish.
• Teachers are trained in teaching with textbooks.
• Students rent all 4 books for $1.50/month. Fees are kept in a “revolving fund” which replaces the books after 5 years.
• Program is financially self-sustaining after initial investment.

“Revolving Fund” Concept
• Increases technological literacy, preparing impoverished youth for entry-level jobs.
• Serves grades 7-9, providing 90 minutes/ week of hands-on instruction.
• Students pay small fee, kept in a “revolving fund” which replaces the lab equipment after 6 years.
• Program is financially self-sustaining after initial investment.
Computer Centers Program
• Engages 1-6th grade kids in reading through storytelling, including acting out and creating their own stories.
• Provides teachers with 2 years of training & 70-200 storybooks for their classrooms.
• CORP students show 3 times more improvement on reading tests compared with students not in the program.
