Objective

Develop understanding of character basing ideas closely on evidence

Task After we have read the opening scenes of the play together we are going to be working in pairs on individual characters, identifying what reasons we have to believe that they might be pitiful (i.e. we feel pity for them) characters.

Look for examples in the text that fit with the ideas that you have been given. You can also look for other ideas that are outside of the pointers you´ve been given.

Both members of the group should make notes on the character that they have been given.
