What is included in the Manager Training Guide?

This User Guide is a supplemental tool available for conducting internal training for managers on how to use CoreTeam.

Getting Started with CoreTeam

Logging in and password recollection

Each manager will receive an email from support@simplymerit.com with an invitation to get started. This invitation will have a unique link that will allow them to create their account within CoreTeam using a password of their choice.

After the initial login, subsequent logins are done at https://coreteam.simplymerit.com, which will take you to this screen.

Tip: Be sure to emphasize that if their account locks, they must wait the full 15 minutes before they can either attempt to login or reset their password. They cannot reset their password if the account is locked.

My Org Page

My Org shows the manager’s span of control… direct and indirect reports Summary and detailed information all on one screen. Managers can navigate down their hierarchy expanding and contracting using the

blue “ + / - “. Approvals are also managed from this single screen. The graphic at the top right shows a quick “at a glance” view of the new salary (left-

hand number) vs. current salary (right-hand number) across the span of control. The My Org | Budget View compresses the My Org view to just the summary boxes,

which can be extremely helpful for HR and senior leaders to look for over-budget conditions

The two summary boxes next to each manager allows you to view key data points for that manager’s span of control as well as direct reports.

Information is shown in both percentages as well as new vs. current salaries on the hover points.

My Team Page This is the main page for identifying employment status going forward as well as

any reductions in pay.

Salary

The graphic at the top right shows new salaries vs. current salaries as adjustments are made to the employees on the screen. This is updated in real time as information is entered below.

The two main action buttons on this screen are “Save as Draft” and “Submit” In the main body of the screen, working from left to right, clicking on the large

informational “i” icon opens a window showing additional compensation information about the employee (market salary range, salary history, etc.)

The administrator may have loaded additional data fields into the application to ensure that you have the right information to make good, objective decisions.

If present, the “Remaining %” and “New Salary” fields work together where a change in one instantly updates the other. These fields directly impact the graphic at the top.

Finally, comments may be entered or viewed by clicking on the comment bubble. When the manager clicks Submit, CoreTeam automatically sends an email

notification to his/her manager that there’s an approval request pending. The email also includes a link back into CoreTeam to review the request.

o The requesting manager can continue to make changes to his/her team until it is approved, at which time he/she moves to view only.

Approval Workflow Navigate back to the My Org page to review the approval process Approvals in CoreTeam are done by the “one up” manager. Anyone up the chain

from you can approve or make modifications at any time, but it’s the “one up” manager who receives the email notification about the approval request.

On the Approval Screen, Managers can review and either:o Modify: make changes and resave the submission

o Approve: approve the submission

o Reject: returns control back to the requesting manager

Each of these actions will trigger an email back to the requesting manager (Navigate back to the My Org page if changes were made)

Click on a yellow “Pending Task” button and you’ll be taken to the Approval Screen!

Additional Topics and Help

Integrated help is available by clicking the “Need Help?” button at the bottom of the screen. Clicking this button will open a side panel with page sensitive help topics.

o A “Getting Started Guide for Managers” is available by clicking on the “FAQs, Video Tutorials, and Other Help Resources” link in the sidebar help panel.

Clicking the “Contact Support” link at the bottom of the screen will create an email to the primary HR Administrator.
