WHAT IS FASTING?

Fast ing is the absta in ing f rom something l ike food, te levis ion, or soc ia l media for a per iod of t ime to ga in greater ins ight , c lar i ty and vic tory f rom God in an area of your l i fe . Dur ing that per iod of absta in ing, there is an increased ef for t made to seek God. This is where many of us miss the b less ings and benef i ts o f fas t ing.

WHO SHOULD FAST?

Anyone, who wants God to breakthrough on a s i tuat ion that has received l i t t le or no c lar i t y leading to a reso lu t ion, should fast . JESUS ’ EXPECTATIONS REGARDING FASTING

“W hen you fast , do not look somber as the hypocr i tes do, for they d is f igure the i r faces to show others they a re fast ing. Tru ly I te l l you, they have rece ived the i r reward in fu l l .

1 7 But when you fast ,

put o i l on your head and wash your face. So that i t wi l l not be obvious to others that you are fast ing, but on ly to your Father , who is u nseen; and your Father , who sees what is done in secret , wi l l reward you . (Mat thew 6 :16-18) (Not ice he d id not say “ i f ” you fast , but “when ” you fast , ind icat ing that He expected h is fo l lowers to do so. )

church.

2. Pray that we will always be faithful to the

mission and goals that we agreed upon in

our Vision Casting Conference.

3. Pray that we are fulfilling our vision as set

out in our Vision Casting Conference.

4. Pray for our Tribal System as outlined in

our Vision Casting Conference.

5. Pray for the success of our 72nd year

Church Anniversary and Fall Revival that

they may glorify God.

6. Pray for our community, that God will give

us wisdom as we seek ways to better

interact with our community.

7. Pray for any families that come into your

spirit; marriage, singles, etc.

8. Pray for the sick, the lonely, the hurting,

the distressed, the bereaved, etc.

9. Each day of the 21 days, use a journal and

try to list 3 things for which you are

thankful.

10. Pray for whatever area in your life you

desire a breakthrough.
