What is graphic design?

� logos, covers, ads, etc

Day in the life of a graphic designer

� different assignments everyday� go to work at 8:30 am� check all new emails from clients� respond to all of them � work on the requests (4ish hours per request) � go on lunch break� daily meeting � finalize their design and send it to their client� double check their email, then go home

How do you become a graphic designer?

� earn a college degree in graphic design

(easier if you build on your art and design skills in high school)

� complete a few internships

� stay with current trends

� further increase your skill by earning a master’s degree

Chip Kidd How did he get into the field?

Growing up, he was influenced by DC comics, also he decided to get a degree in graphic design.

Who influenced them?

His biggest influence besides DC comics, was Alvin Lustig

Why do I like him/what did I learn from him?

I admire his work, as it is very detailed and skilled. I learned from him that even the smallest ideas can turn into good designs.

What's his perspective?

He believes that every solution lies in the analysis of the problem

Chip Kidd Designs

His work influences me, since it is so simple in color and design, yet has a deeper meaning if you look into it. For instance, the Jurassic Park logo explains the main idea of the movie.
