The Fuel Injection Control Module (FICM) sends an electrical impulse to the injector, to deliver the correct amount of fuel to the engine cylinder at the precise moment it’s needed. It’s vitally important to the engine’s performance and fuel economy.

What is a FICM?

Pre-programmed FICM

When every moment of downtime matters, busy shops will reach for a Pre-programmed FICM. It’s perfect for field repairs because there’s no need to tow the vehicle, transport programming equipment to the repair site or perform any programming back at the shop. Just swap the unit and the engine is back in service.

Half-Shell FICM

When the FICM DC-to-DC voltage converter requires replacement, a cost-effective solution is to replace only that component. This half-shell repair costs less and does not require unit reprogramming, assuming that the vehicle has the latest software updates from Ford Motor Company. This option is an effective repair solution in over 90% of FICM replacement situations. Full, Field-Programmable FICM

Some F-650/F-750 and LCF applications require a full, field-programmable FICM repair. In those instances, the technician custom-programs the unit to the subject vehicle using a scan tool programming function.
