REFENENCES ON DENSITIES & SCALE
The density (FAR) in a city does not give an exact idéa of the cityscape. The same FAR can be present in to very different cities, in terms of hights and open spaces.

SCENARIO 1
Scenario 1 is built around the analysis and strategy on creating a higher degree of amenities in the future city of Frihamnen. A series of new public spaces, strategically placed, together with a modified coastline, can bring qualities into all parts of the plan.
The density and scale supports the different characters of the districts and follows the microclimatic strategy. The scenario includes a retaining water-body to the west, allowing in periods to collect water from Kvillebäcken in the occation of flooding. The lake can give great amenity values for the Bohemian and DemocraCity districts, but may also cause a certain degree of incoherent urban space having to ‘less’ of a city in between the different bodies of water.
Scenario 1 contains a total amount of about 950.000 m².
ALTERNATIVE PLACEMENT OF BOULEVARDMore buildable space north of boulevardFewer blocks between boulevard and low-rise waterfront results in more dramatic graduation in scale and density.
TEAM HLA_SLA_SOCIAL ACTION PAGE 21SCENARIO 2
Scenario 2 deals with a different strain of the main Boulevard from Göta Älvbron towards Hisingen; apart from the relatively high proximity between the Boulevard and the north-south going backbone of public transport, this scenario allows the city to develop in a more coherent way to the very north and strengthening the connection towards Hub-Hjalmar and Backaplan.
Scenario 2 contains a total amount of about 930.000 m².

ALTERNATIVE JUBILEE PARK One bigger island, reduced need for park space on Hisingen
More available land for building
TEAM HLA_SLA_SOCIAL ACTION PAGE 23SCENARIO 3
Scenario 3 examines the option of a bigger Jubilee Park Island in the midst of Frihamnen. By reclaiming more land for an island, the extention of the park on the Hisingen-side to the west could be reduced and make more development possible.
This scenario contains a total amount of about 980.000 m².

A CANAL CONNECTING THE TWO BASSINSIncreased amenity and property value in the boulevard district.Better circulation of water
REDUCED SIZE OF THE LAKELarger buildable area in the bohemian district
TEAM HLA_SLA_SOCIAL ACTION PAGE 25SCENARIO 4
Scenario 4 questions the amount of waterbody to the west; the retaining lake with water from Kvillebäcken is reduced to a resilient creek-area where a waterpark could bring the same degree of amenity. By developing the Bohemian city district to a higher extend, a more coherent urban space could emerge along the back-bone string of public transport.
Furthermore a canal connecting the two basins could increase amenity and property values in the Boulevard city district. The identification of a Frihamnen-island could also strengthen the overall character of the city. The circulation of water in the canal could secure water quality.
Scenario 4 contains a total amount of about 950.000 m².
