KEY ISSUE TO MAKE CITIES BETTER TO LIVE FOR THE FUTURE

 If we’re the greatest country in the world, then we could have the greatest government.-Lewis Black 

From the quote above, we can see how the government plays a crucial role in developing

a city. However, we as the citizens must be initiatively industrious, not depending only to the

government. What are the key issues to make cities better to live in?

Indonesia is well-known for its magnificent nature and its abundance of natural

resources. However, Indonesian do not seem to make use of it well. Many mines like coal,

natural gases and gold are taken by other countries. Why is this happening? This is because

 people in our country are incapable to do such things. I believe the key issue need to be

considered, especially in developing country like Indonesia, is to improve education.

Amending pedagogy definitely results in more trentchant people, who will be involved in

economic development and the construction of the cities. Education also helps to develop

venerable traits that will disminish the gigantic numbers of corruptors, anarchies and even

robberies. Education ameliorates intellectual and innovative people, who will invent

sophisticated technologies to enhance human’s life.

Every action taken by the government such as trading, investing ,and even funding for 

scientific researches, needs financial support. Citizens should be encouraged to have their own

 businesses to help the government; however, enterpreneurship is not properly appreciated in

developing country. Citizens are poor and their potential skill are buried along with insufficient

capital. Those who creates work place not only for themselves, but also for others, is the heart of 

a city’s development. Cities have to conserve those people. Consequently, a high percentage of 

 business people in most ways leads to a better quality of life in a city.

To become sucessful city, we must also develop honorable traits. Considering the

shocking news about our beloved Governor and Mayor, who are convicted for corruptions , show

how honesty has been abandoned. We need figures of virtuos people who can fight againts

corruption and nepotism, who can stand by justice and rightness to rule cities. By educating them

not only academically but also morally, we can decrease criminals, stop illegal-logging and save

our planet, for people have concerned more on environment than their own pockets.

Training young generation never overeaches to create scintillating society who is

expected to solve problems that the country is facing. For example,the problem that have been

stated at the third paragraph; Indonesia exports raw fuel and import processed fuel at far higher 

 price. If Indonesia had invested that fund to education, it would not have suffered such a great

lost, for the country can process its own fuel.

The conclusion is the government should provide better education for its citizen. Young

generations must be encouraged to study, because they will lead economic development, lead the

cities and finally improve the cities to become better living places in the future.
