The secretariat of the SDSN Global is located in Paris, France, and New York, USA. The world-renowned professor of economics, Jeffrey Sachs, is the director of SDSN.

Focus on: Solutions utilization and education

We’re SDSNNorthern EuropeA regional SDSN network that links knowledge to action for society’sachievement of the SustainableDevelopment Goals.

Why the SDGs matter to universities

How universities help the SDGs• Provide knowledge, evidence-base,

solutions, technologies and innovations

• Create current and future SDG implementers

• Demonstrate how to support, adopt and implement SDGs in governance, operations and culture

• Develop cross-sectoral leadership to guide the SDG response

How the SDGs help universities• Create increased demand for SDG

related education• Provide a comprehensive and

globally accepted definition of a responsible university

• Offer a framework for demonstrating impact

• Create new funding streams• Support collaboration with new

Energy solutionsPolicy and public investment

• Time perspectives: 2030 and 2050

From our application for strategic research funding (2009):

Challenges in the Transport sector and connections to SDGs

Consumer behaviour: SDG 12, 13, 14, 15

Transport industry: SDG 7, 8, 9

Developments in automation and digitalisation: SDG 9

Urban transport: SDG 11 (globally indirect SDG 1,2,3,4,5,10,16)

Energy solutions: SDG 7

Policy and public investment: SDG 17,

Complex! How to deal with so many goals???
