NEEDED: paper, crayons, glue, scissors ACTIVITY: for “Fruit Tree” Draw picture of tree with branches. Draw separate pictures of at least 10 fruits to glue on the tree branches. On each fruit, write down a quality, or talent that someone may have. And then write down underneath it or on the back of the fruit (whichever you want). Write how a person can use that talent to serve God- or how God can work through that person with that talent using that talent.

NEEDED: Index cards, pencil or crayon Using index cards, write the word on one card, and the meaning of the word on another card. Try to match the word cards to the meanings cards. study words for: “Fruit Tree” trunk- the bottom of a tree branches- the top of the tree where leaves grow deeds- the act of doing something, actions spiritually- of the mind and soul souls- invisible life that goes to Heaven or Hell when a body dies

“Fruit Tree” The love of God is like a fruit tree. Think of God as the trunk of the tree

and God’s people as the branches of

the tree. Think of the good deeds that God’s people do as the fruit the tree makes. If the branches are cut off from the trunk of the tree, it won’t get the water it needs to live. Just the same, if we cut ourselves off from God’s love, we won’t grow spiritually. God fills our souls with his love so that our souls will grow and produce good works, like the tree makes fruit. Good works can be anything that shows that God is using us to do his work, like helping animals, helping children, helping our neighbor, or anyone in need of help.
