How are these installations different?
Unlike when you cut paper snowflakes

Brian DettemerSculptor that works with vintage literary books, outdated textbooks and encyclopedias.
First he seals the edges and then he carves into the book, moving one page at a time. It can take one week for a single book. Sometimes he glues more than one book together. He will glance through a book beforehand to see if he can work with the imagery. He is surprised by pages as he creates his collage, just like a reader going through the story can be surprised.
