What we really need to learn…

LeeWatanabe Crockett and Andrew Churches assertthat, in order to effectively support modern students,teachers must see their teaching as a response tolearning, rather than seeing learning as an outcomeof teaching. This will require remodelling assessmentpractices to correspond to changes in standards andpedagogy that emphasize inquiry and project-basedlearning. With the essential fluencies as a basis, theauthors provide tools to help educators focus theirinstruction and assessment changes on mindfulnessand feedback for improvement.
