"The Government of New Zealand and "Whangarei District Council" Has a policy of shooting abandoned homeless dogs. The District Council had given its dog control Keith Thompson Manager the right to shoot lost abandoned homeless dogs and bury them in mass graves in "Public Park" Rewa Road Whangarei sign "Children’s Living Treasure Forest” was used as a disposal area for dogs shot by the Councils pound Whangarei District. "New Zealand"

More than 600 dogs had been executed in this inhumane fashion in the last two years.

"The journalist sent to report what was going on reported the reality," Abandoned dogs shot then dumped in holes and the history behind it, reported on The TV3 I feel very strongly that citizens and animal lover should take the TIME and protest LOUDLY.. Last week, we received a phone call from a dog owner in Northland who described a most unpleasant scene.

He claimed to have found a number of holes in the ground filled with dead dogs that had been shot in the head.To be honest, we found it a little hard to believe.

So, we drove to Whangarei to have a look for ourselves, and we saw exactly what he had described. It was broadcast, when most New Zealander listen to the news." Campell Live: reached the public for the first time.

Dog Pound Manager Keith Thompson

For the past years, Whangarei District Council dog control Keith Thompson Dog Pound Manager has been shooting dogs and dumping them into mass graves, and he didn't have much of a problem with it. They [dogs] should be destroyed as quickly, humanely and safely as possible. In the circumstances, this is by shooting them in the head," Keith Thompson asserted."It is about money," dog control Keith Thompson Manager said. "It's not about expediency or anything like that." The Whangarei District Council Mayor Pamela Peters justifies

the violent policy for pets by saying that it's cheap. That you would think was only in place in Third World nations.

"That right there is the face of an unwanted dog," dog owner Association spokesman Warren Slater said, pointing out a dead animal in the grave. "That was shot probably in the eye, and thrown in there dead." It's routine practice in Whangarei District and many other Districts in New Zealand. After dog control puts a bullet in your pet's head, it's tossed into a mass grave.

McDonald’s, the world's largest fast food chain, has covered over its logo on the Children’s Living Treasure Forest sign in Rewa Rewa Road. Apparently it no longer wishes to be associated with the planted forest (which it sponsored at the time) after it was revealed on TV3 that the forest was used as a disposal area for

dogs shot by the Council's pound. The TV3 expose found that many of the holes (some 5m deep) were open and posed a danger and health risk.

The new indictments describe the dog shootings as torture and not humane as Keith Thompson had previously stated.

Dog owner believe the dogs were shipped from tracks across Northlands to pick up.  Some of the dogs came from as far north as Bay of Islands and Kaitaia.

"There are three reasons why we don't shoot dogs: one, it's inhumane; secondly, it's very hard on the staff; third, it's not a sure destruction of the animal," SPCA spokesman Bob Kerride said.

Many counties Turkey, Peru, Pakistan and African countries" had used kill boxes in the 70s where the Dogs and cats would be gassed or shot a several times.

Kill boxes where the Dogs and cats would be gassed.

Public pressure made most counties change the way they put down abandoned homeless animals Most "civilised countries" switched to lethal injections, but some, including New Zealand

"Whangarei District Council", started shooting the animals and placing their dead bodies in mass graves. That you would think was only in place in Third World nations.

In most "civilised countries" law requires animals that die or are killed be disposed of in 2 ways within 24 hours by either being buried or burned. Feeding dead Pets or livestock to swine is prohibited because it could pass disease and pose a health threat to humans.

But when Mayor Pamela S Peters and his other fellow councillors had a chance to do something about stopping the violent practice in "Whangarei District Council", they balked, choosing not to bring the issue up. I bet the Mayor is wishing she had sorted out her dodgy dog ranger now instead of sweeping the issue under the carpet.

Too late Ms Peters, I have become aware of many of the "Dog" case of that is going on in your neck of the woods Dog Control has become a huge issue in this council which has spectacularly failed to deliver to ratepayers expectations.

All of the people wanted to add their voices to those already fighting to stop the shooting of dogs in Whangarei District Council.

"The threat of shooting feral dogs is a useful means of encouraging local people to manage their dogs: to tie them up and have them vaccinated when the opportunity arises. This is necessary because people have such a low regard for dogs,"

It will be interesting to see if any charges stem from this shooting. There is something very wrong with a person who refuses to take personal responsibility. New Zealanders are a nation of cat and dog lovers. New Zealanders like those in many other developed countries have a high frequency of animal ownership. It is difficult to get exact details on dog ownership, however it is estimated that there are over 600,000 dogs in New Zealand; 27% of dog owners have two or more dogs.

New Zealand has one of the highest rates of cat ownership in the world - an estimated 900,000 to 1,500,000. And those cat lovers have now got some good guidance on how best to care for these loved and loving companions.

As a nation, we claim to love cats and dogs. 1.6 Millions of households have pets, and millions of dollars are spent yearly on pet supplies.

The Animal Welfare Act provides legal protections for animals in this country, requiring that they be properly cared for and protected from unnecessary pain and distress. Animals being killed or transported must be treated humanely.

Through exposure the truths about neglect and abuse from animals, we hope to bring awareness to all animals lover in New Zealand.

DON'T say “YOU LOVE ANIMALS” until you can face the truth about animal cruelty and are willing to be a voice for them. Please understand...We are their only hope!!!

They cannot control their destiny, nor speak of the pain they suffer...But WE as a civilized society can... and SHOULD...and help to put an end to Animal Cruelty!

“There is little that separates humans from other sentient beings—we all feel pain, we all feel joy, we all deeply crave to be alive and live freely, and we all share this planet together.”                                                                   Gandhi

My only purpose here is to educate and bring awareness to the harsh reality of animal cruelty that is rampant across the nation.

We Will Remember Them All!

Those Who Have Passed,

The Nameless Dead, Will Never,

Ever Be Forgotten!
