HELLO

Choices… School? Sixth Form? College? Work? It’s a tough decision. This guide is our way of helping you to decide if our college is right for you.

You may be pleased to learn that it isn’t a traditional prospectus packed with small print. We’re different. And we appreciate that you’re smart enough to make up your own mind. That’s part of what makes college different from school. We offer a fresh start for independent minds. So, whoever you are, whatever your background, wherever you’re planning to go, you’re welcome here and we’ll work with you to help you achieve your goals – but enough about us. This is about you…

…And if you decide that you want to get work-ready and you like the idea of studying in a professional setting with inspiring staff, we could be just what you’re looking for. It’s not all work either – just imagine hanging out with new friends in our on-site Costa, or enjoying one of Andy’s legendary BBQs in sunny College Square. So, we hope you enjoy this guide. We think it says a lot about us and what we believe in.

If you like what you see, come back and see us at one of our Open Events for a chat and to find out more. If you already have a subject area in mind, find out more about the courses available and the entry requirements by visiting our website.

We look forward to seeing you soon.

One of the advantages of college is that it is diff erent to school. We off er an adult environment where students are encouraged to think independently, but we’re also committed to providing the structures and support systems needed to ensure that they work hard, succeed in their studies, and develop the personal and employability skills needed to give them an edge in a competitive job market.

To help build this partnership, we provide:

A dedicated contact for you Each student is allocated a personal tutor at the start of their course who will be monitoring learning and attendance throughout the year and will be your fi rst point of contact.

Regular progress updates, accessible online from home A record of the one-to-one tutorials and termly reviews will be entered onto each student’s record which is accessible to parents at any time.

Regular feedback Parents’ evenings provide an opportunity for more detailed conversations about progress, so

you’re fully informed about progress and predicted results.

A safe and secure environment We issue all students with a photo ID badge, which they will need to access services and exams. Our students tell us they feel safe on campus and we have a dedicated safeguarding offi cer whose primary responsibility is ensuring our students continue to feel this way.

Benefi ts beyond the classroom We have a fantastic sports and activity programme for non-sports students run from our impressive facilities at the National Sailing Academy, Redlands Community Sports Hub and on-site.
