What Is Covered? Weyerhaeuser OSB Sheathing (OSB), when installed as exterior wall or roof sheathing in a home by the builder, is warranted against delamination for a period of twenty (20) years from the date of the original purchase of the home. At the time of manufacture, the product will meet or exceed the manufacturing standards under US Product Standard PS2.

Definition of Delamination. Delamination is defined as an extensive separation of strands within the OSB, which results in a reduction of the structural capacity of the OSB. Minor localized edge checking or loose strands on the surface of the OSB does not constitute delamination. This warranty does not cover the performance of OSB outside the U.S. and Canada, nor delamination due to:

• Prolonged exposure to water before, during or after completion of construction; fire, floods, fungal growth, natural disaster, or any other cause beyond Weyerhaeuser’s control.

• Manufacturing or construction defects in the home. • Noncompliance with installation instructions, applicable building

code or generally accepted construction practices.

• Damage to the OSB prior to or during installation. • Pressure or topical treatment not approved by Weyerhaeuser.• Tears, ruptures, or other damage to the exterior wall cladding or

roofing.

What Weyerhaeuser Will Do. Weyerhaeuser will provide replacement material and pay for the reasonable cost of replacing or repairing the affected OSB including any necessary wall cladding or roofing materials, not to exceed 3 times the cost of the affected OSB panels.

What You Must Do. You must notify Weyerhaeuser in writing of any claim under this warranty within thirty (30) days after discovery of delamination at the following address:

Weyerhaeuser Product Assurance Group 33663 Weyerhaeuser Way South Federal Way, Washington 98003 1-253-924-5214

Upon request, you must provide Weyerhaeuser with reasonable proof of product identification in the form of a sample, a photograph of the identifying stamp, or dated receipt. A Weyerhaeuser representative must be given the opportunity to inspect the OSB prior to any alteration, change or repair.

Incidental or Consequential Damages.Weyerhaeuser’s sole responsibility is as set forth in this warranty and Weyerhaeuser will not be responsible for incidental, indirect or consequential damages. Some states and provinces do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.

State Law RightsThis warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state and province to province.

Note: Delamination is not caused by wood fungal decay or rot. Like any wood product, all wood-based OSB may be at risk for fungal decay or rot when exposed to repeated wetting or high moisture environments, particularly if not properly ventilated. For this reason, manufacturing, design and use features must ensure OSB is protected from such exposure by appropriate finish wall cladding or roofing.

This warranty does not cover mold, fungal decay or rot.

APPLICATION AND HANDLING• Ship Weyerhaeuser OSB under tarps. Store under a roof or tarp in a dry location.

• Do not exceed the span limitations printed on each panel.

• Use appropriate fasteners at the recommended schedule and gap panels ⅛" (3mm) on the ends and edges of each panel.

• All edges are sealed for moisture and weather resistance. If any become swollen, they can be touch-sanded without structural loss.

• Like any wood product, wood-based panels are at risk of fungal decay or rot if exposed to extended wetting or high-moisture environments. Such panels may deteriorate, lose strength, or support mold growth.

FOR ROOF APPLICATIONS• Check local building codes for panel edge support requirements. Without edge

support, you may need to decrease the support on-center spacing to less than the span rating of the panel.

• Cover roof sheathing with shingle underlayment felt as soon as possible to minimize the sheathing’s exposure to weather. If using asphalt or fiberglass shingles, postpone shingle installation as long as possible. This will provide time for the roof sheathing to adjust to humidity and moisture conditions.

• Install roof sheathing with textured surface up to ensure maximum safety.

FOR WALL APPLICATIONS• Weyerhaeuser OSB sheathing panels meet all building code wall sheathing

requirements for bending and racking strength without let-in bracing.

• Sheathing panels may be used vertically or horizontally as wall sheathing over studs at 24" o.c. maximum. When installing horizontally, block horizontal joints in panels that are used for bracing. Check local code for requirements.

TWO-WAY NAIL LINESWeyerhaeuser sheathing panels include two-way nail lines applied horizontally and vertically at 16" and 24" centers. This feature brings cost savings to the builder and homeowner by reducing installation time and saving labor costs.

• Faster, easier installation

• Eliminates laying out chalk lines for nailing

• More accurate nailing and less re-nailing

• Also available in 9' lengths with vertical nail lines only
